Out of Town

Happy Wednesday everyone! I wanted to let everyone know that I will be out of town for the next few days. And of course where I am going is a super small town so I probably won't even have internet. So no posting for me for a few days :( I promise I will catch up on everyone's blogs when I get back and will hopefully have a new post to fill you in on where I was. I hope that everyone has an amazing weekend!!

Friend Dedication: Amber and Victoria

Two of the most beautiful women that I know
I have been working on getting this post together for a while now. I will warn you now, it is REALLY LONG!! This particular friend dedication is very special to me simply because these two friends who are sisters, are my oldest friends. I have known them longer than any of my other friends. They have stuck by me through middle school, high school, college and now my life after college. They have always been like family and honestly I know no different from that. They ARE family and always will be. So let me introduce you to them. First up, Amber.

Amber, my dog Britney, and I
Amber and I met in the 5th grade. We were in the same class and for some reason we just kind of got along. I always say that it was because we were the only two girls in 5th grade with boobs, so we could relate to each other, but I know that it was more than that. She has such a great personality and she is so caring. I love her to pieces. I can't imagine my life without her as a best friend. We did a lot of things together when we were younger. Sleepovers, dances at school, ski trips with school and I think my favorite memory of when we were  younger took place on a summer day after it had rained for hours. The place that my Mom and I were living at was out east and when it would rain, a small pond would form in the driveway. It was probably about 6" deep or so. So Amber and I decided one day to go out and play in it with my puppy Britney. We played around in this makeshift pond for a good hour or so. Of course it was nothing but mud, but we didn't care. We had so much fun splashing around that we didn't care that we were covered in mud. Luckily my mom had her camera there at the time so we were able to capture the moment.

Victoria is Amber's older sister by a year and we always got along really well too. Victoria was always fun to hang out with and I quickly began a friendship with her as well. When I would go over to their house I wouldn't just hang out with Amber, I would hang out with both of them. I love her so much and I am glad that I was able to establish a great friendship with her as well. One of my favorite memories of Victoria is when she and Amber and a few of our other friends came over for a sleepover for my 12th birthday. Somehow or another, I honestly can't remember, Victoria ended up being tied to and I think duct taped to a chair. I can't remember why we did this or if she volunteered, but I just remember this and how much fun it was.

When we were in 6th grade, my mom and I had to move to another town and into a different place. The school year was almost over so Amber's Mom let me stay with them during the week while we had school and then I would go home on the weekends with my mom. This reason along with many other's is why I consider them to be family. They took care of me when I needed it and I am so grateful to them for that.

After the 6th grade, I had to move in with my Dad because of the job that my mom got. So I had to switch schools which really sucked because I barely got to see Amber and Victoria that often. Luckily our schools were in the same league so through sports I was still able to see them. That was part of the reason that I kept playing sports too, so that I could see them when we played each other. During the summers I would also go and spend a few weeks with them. This was always fun and I remember one time they actually didn't know that I was coming over and their Mom and I surprised them. I think I hid in Amber's closet and they had no idea that I was even there.

Amber, Victoria, and I the day Victoria graduated
Throughout High School we kept in touch and saw each other when our school's would play against each other, but it was harder and harder to see each other because of school and summer jobs. I went out there for Victoria's High School Graduation and got to spend some more time with them, and then the following year, Amber came out for my High School Graduation and to a few of the graduation parties that were going on.

After I left for college, we didn't see each other very much. A lot happened while I was gone and I was sad that I missed it. Victoria got married in October of 2008 to an amazing guy named Josh. I wish that I could have been there, but I did see pictures and she looked absolutely beautiful and I was very excited for her. That next summer (2009) Amber and I were able to go to lunch and catch up. It was a lot of fun seeing her and it reminded me of how much I missed them and it made me want to be done with school even sooner so that I could come home and spend time with them.

Later that year I found out that Victoria was pregnant with her and Josh's first kid. She gave birth to a beautiful baby girl named Kloe in March of 2010. I was so excited for her and I couldn't wait to get home to see them. Around the time that Victoria gave birth, I found out that Amber was also pregnant. Talk about double excitement.

Victoria, Amber and I at Amber's Baby Shower
After Graduation I came home and it was a little while before I got to see Amber and Victoria. I didn't actually get to see them until Amber's Baby Shower which was in June. I was excited for weeks for her shower because I was so excited to see them. It was such a great day and not only did I get to see the two of them, I got to meet Kloe and I got to see their parents as well. I loved the feeling that we just picked up right where we left off. I mean we hadn't seen each other in a while and it was as if time hadn't even passed. I was really excited to be back with my family.

In July of that year, I took Aran out to meet Amber and Victoria and all of the rest of the family. It was a great day filled with lots of fun and laughs and they seemed to really like Aran. A few weeks later, Amber gave birth to a beautiful little girl named Madyson. She was so cute and I was so excited for Amber. Things seemed to really be going well for all of us and I was so excited to have them back in my life.

Since coming back from school, we have done a lot together. Girls day out, ladies night, wedding dress shopping, just a lot of  fun times that I have truly enjoyed spending with them. I love spending time with the two of them and their little girls. Kloe and Madyson are like nieces to me and I can't imagine them not being here. I am so glad that I have found such great friends who I can call my family. I have asked both Amber and Victoria to be in my wedding and they both said yes, so I am excited to have them be a part of my big day.

I could say a million more things about these two amazing women, but I realize that this post is getting super long. Bottom line, I love them so much and I can't imagine my life without them. Two of the best friends and sisters anyone could ever ask for.

Love these two!!

Donating Clothes for Storm Victims

I am sure by now everyone knows about the horrible tragedies that occurred in the South. If you have been living under a rock and don't know what I am talking about, I am talking about all of the tornadoes and storms that hit the South part of the United States a few weeks ago. So many people lost their lives and others lost all of their possessions. The lives that were lost will never be able to be replaced, but their possessions can be.

That is where all of us come in. Myself and Lou over at Guinn and Bare It decided that there had to be something that we could do to help even if we couldn't send money. Well she had recently gone through her clothes and was going to let me pick through them to see if there was anything that I wanted and then whatever I didn't want, she was going to give to Goodwill or some other organization like that. When we were talking about this, it donned on me that there were other people who needed the clothes a lot more than I did and especially more than Goodwill. So that night Lou and I decided to send all of the clothes that we don't wear anymore down to the South, to people who really are in need.

So I went through all of my clothes and boxed up a big box that I no longer wear but are still in good condition. I am having Aran do the same and Lou has already done hers. I did some research online about where to send them. Most people are only excepting donations in the form of money, but we did find one article about The United Way of West Alabama that is pretty much accepting any type of donation. You can find that article here.

If you would like to help by sending clothing, non-perishable items, tarps or other things, you can send those items to:

The United Way of West Alabama
P.O. Box 2291
Tuscaloosa, AL 35403

I hope that you guys can donate a few things from your closets! If you do, please post pictures on your blogs of a few of the things that you are sending and also leave me a comment. I would love to see who joins in on the effort to help. Thanks in advance to anyone who does help out. Hope everyone is having a great Monday!

Scentsy Party

On Friday I hosted a Scentsy Party. I had never been to one before but the bestie sells it and she had me convinced that the products were amazing. Which, if you haven't looked in to them, they definitely are! So I invited a ton of people over for this party and out of all of them, only five showed up, haha! But I held a Basket Party at work all week and a lot of people order then instead of coming to the party, so it all worked out. Overall though, the party was a lot of fun. I had some great friends there and we sat around and talked and smelled the products for a good portion of the night. It was a lot of fun. The problem that I am running into now is which scents I should order. Aran and I were discussing it and we have like over 15 that we like. As you can imagine this is making me make some tough decisions. I mean, I don't want to cut any of the scents, because it might break their little cubes, but I have to make some cuts! Haha! So here is the original list of the ones that we want and hopefully it will get shorter over the next day.

  • Black Raspberry Vanilla
  • My Dear Watson (Scentsy Man for Aran)
  • Hemingway (Scentsy Man for Aran)
  • Perfectly Pomegranate
  • Skinny Dippin'
  • White Tea and Cactus
  • Lilacs & Violets
  • Lucky In Love
  • My Wish
  • Blueberry Cheesecake
  • Home Sweet Home
  • Vanilla Cream
  • Welcome Home
  • Flutter (This was a scent of the month so once they run out, you can't get it anymore)
  • Sun Kissed Citrus
Like I said, it is a pretty big list, but I think that we may have gotten it down to 9 and this is that list

  • My Dear Watson
  • Hemingway
  • Blueberry Cheesecake
  • Lilacs & Violets
  • My Wish
  • Perfectly Pomegranate(If you know me, I love all things Pomegranate, so this is a must)
  • Flutter
  • Skinny Dippin'
  • Black Raspberry Vanilla
What do you guys think? Any of you that like Scentsy, are these any of your faves? I would love some feedback on what you guys think of the scents that we have chosen. Oh and here are the warmers that we are going to buy

A Letter to Heaven

Happy Mother's Day to all the Mom's out there! Today is kind of a hard day for me. Even though my Mom is still alive and very well, there is someone that isn't with us anymore. A lot of you know that I lost my Grandmother in December. She was such an amazing woman and I miss her so much. Every year I would send her a Mother's Day card to tell her how much I loved her and appreciated her, and well, I can't do that this year so it has been really hard. So for my post today, I am writing what I would have wrote in her card if she was still here with us.

Dear Grandma,
Happy Mother's Day! I love you so much and I hope that you have an amazing Mother's Day. You have been such an amazing person in my life and I am so glad that God gave me such an amazing Grandma. You have always been here for me and I appreciate that so much. You are the best Grandma that anyone could ever have. Thank you for teaching me the things that you have. Thank you for taking me to Bingo when I was younger, I have always enjoyed spending that time with you. I love you so much Grandma!! Happy Mother's Day!

                      Love,
                             Megan

Here are a some pictures of my Grandma before I even came into the world. I love these pictures and I am so glad that I am able to share them with everyone.

American Idol Night!

My favorite night of the week has to be American Idol night. For those of you that don't watch it, that means it is Wednesday, haha! I have been watching this show for years now. I think the first season that I really watched was the season with Carrie Underwood. It had me hooked from there. I haven't been able to quit watching since then.

With that being said, this season has been A-MAZ-ING!!!!!! The talent is so awesome that it is so hard to figure out who will go home from week to week. I love the new judging panel as well. There were so many people that said that they would no longer watch American Idol after Simon left, but honestly, who cares!! I loved Simon and often found myself siding with him, but the show isn't about him, it is about the talent and finding the next big thing or in this years case, the next big thingS!!!

Over the course of the season there have been two contestants that I have loved since they first opened their mouths and sang for us on the audition shows. Those two would be Scotty McCreery and Lauren Alaina. They are both so talented and I grow to love them more and more each week that they continue to be on the show. I love country music too so this is like a double win for me already, haha! I am keeping my fingers crossed and voting like a mad women for both of them each week because I honestly believe that they deserve to be in the finale together. The only other person that I believe should be in there with them would be James Durbin. I mean Jacob is great and has a beautiful voice, but I don't see him as an American Idol. And Haley, well, she has a great voice, but it doesn't do anything for me. She is just to inconsistent for me.

Well, show is over. I need to get to work voting. Fingers crossed that my faves are still here next week!! Hope everyone is having a great Wednesday!

First Workout with the Trainer

All I can say is wow!! This personal trainer is going to be well worth my money. And can I just say that I absolutely love his personality too. Aran and I both worked out with him and he was so much fun. He was singing almost the entire time.

He kicked my butt though. He had me doing circuit training at first. A minute on the treadmill and then 15 push-ups using the end of the treadmill and then 15 mountain climbers. I did this four times and I was sweating so bad, it was disgusting. But, I was burning calories. Then he had me do a lot of 1 minute or less sets of cardio like jumping jacks, and running and place. We also did a few things with weights, but it definitely kicked my butt. I am glad that I decided to get a trainer because I have only been to one session and I can already tell that I am going to get the results that I want. Well, that is all that I have for now. It is time to go shave Aran's head, haha!

Hope that everyone is having a good night!
