Weigh-In Wednesday

Happy Wednesday everyone. It's time for Weigh-In Wednesday!

It's been a few weeks since I have done a WIW post, so let's just get right to it.

My eating has not been at it's best. I could feel myself slipping here and there. Which is probably why the scale hasn't been moving much. I am only cheating myself by doing this. And I know this. No one is perfect, and especially not me. But I am determined to get back on track. And so far this week, I have done just that!

I really need to get back on track with the low carb/high carb days that I was doing. Low carb eating on days when I am only doing cardio and high carb eating on days when I am lifting. It actually works out pretty well when I do this. I don't feel like I am stuck eating the same thing all the time. AND after talking to my trainer, he upped my calories back up to 1550 instead of the 1450 that he had me at. I felt like I wasn't getting enough to eat on some days and he said if that is the case then I probably wasn't. So we went back to where I was. Having that extra 100 calories back has felt amazing. I can't even describe it.

As far as workouts go, I am staying pretty consistent with these. Still doing Zumba twice a week. And lifting three days out of the week and I have recently added a circuit day to help me get ready for Tough Mudder. Also I have been trying to take one day where I either go hiking for a good amount of time and distance or a long run of three or more miles. This has pretty much equated to me working out seven days a week, which can be rough at times. But I am making sure to listen to my body and when I start feeling fatigued, I take a rest day.

The last Weigh-In Wednesday I did was on July 2nd and I weighed in at 162 lbs. Today I am down to 157.8 for a total loss of 4.20 lbs! That is really good actually. That means I am losing about a lb a week. I will take it at this point. I will take any loss at this point. I still have almost 18 lbs to get to my goal, but I am getting closer!!! AND to top it all off, my trainer did my measurement on Friday. Although I don't have the specific measurement from this, I lost inches everywhere. And we did body fat as well and I am officially down to 22.6% which is 1.6% away from being considered an Athlete in terms of body fat!!! 1.6% away! I am so freaking proud of this. One of my goals has been to get to that 21%. So I am sooooooooooo close to accomplishing that! And that feels great!

Okay, that is all I have for today. Thanks for stopping by and checking in on my progress. Hope you guys have a great Hump Day!

That Time I Scored Dierks Bentley Tickets Two Days Before the Show!!!!

Yep! You read that right! Last week on Monday I got a call from my co-worker telling me that someone had four Dierks Bentley tickets for sale in one of those For Sale in Colorado Springs pages on Facebook. So I immediately called the lady to ask if she still had them and how much.

I left a message for her when she didn't answer and about fifteen minutes later she called me back. She informed me that something had come up and they just weren't able to attend the show and that she just wanted to at least get what she paid for them. So she was only asking $65 a piece!!!!!! It was like the skies opened up and angels started singing!!!!

You might recall that I had been looking for tickets for weeks but couldn't find any tickets at a reasonable price. Most people were asking $100 or more for a general admission ticket that only cost $40-$50 to begin with. I wasn't paying that. And refused to. So when she said she only wanted $65 a piece I was in shock. So I asked her where the seats were and she said Row 20! Row 20!!!!! These weren't just general admission tickets! They were reserved seats! So of course I bought two of them. My friend from work met the lady the next day with our cash and she gave us our tickets.

On Wednesday we left work a few hours early and headed up to Red Rocks. Once we found parking and then waited in line for a good 20 minutes to get into the place, we found our seats. It was at this moment that we realized that we got incredibly lucky and had amazing seats for what was going to be an amazing show!!!

The show was absolutely amazing!! Minus getting beer spilled all over my legs and feet, but it was still freaking amazing!! It was an incredible line up with Jon Pardi, Chase Rice, who is freaking gorgeous, Chris Young and of course Dierks Bentley.

With each artist that came out, the show just got better. And the weather was perfect! It had rained before we got there, so it was nice and cool and a nice breeze was blowing through. It was just a perfect night all around!

Dierks Bentley was absolutely amazing. He was so entertaining and just fun to watch. He had a great set list and you could tell he was excited to be there. He kept looking up at the sold out crowd and the expression on his face said it all. And so did this tweet from him!

And with our seats being so close, I was actually able to get some pretty decent pictures. I was very happy with this, haha!

I just keep thinking back to this night and I can't seem to get it out of my head. I just keep re-living it. It was definitely one of the best concerts I have ever been too.It was an incredible night that is for sure!! And you better believe that this girl will be seeing Dierks again when he returns to Colorado! I wouldn't miss it!

And one last thing, thank you to the lady who sold us her tickets. You could have been an asshole and charge double, heck triple what you paid for them, but you didn't. You were reasonable and fair and it just goes to show that there are still good people out there. Thank you for being awesome and selling us your tickets. Because of you we had an incredible night that we won't be forgetting anytime soon. So again, thank you!

Weekend Recap

Hello there! Welcome to this gawd awful day we call Monday. Anybody else have a hard time getting out of bed this morning? Yeah, it was pretty rough!

This weekend was pretty busy, even though we didn't really have any major plans. It was just a lot of running around. Friday I left work and headed straight to my session with my trainer. After he kicked my ass, I headed home and went for a short run around our neighborhood. It felt great to get out and run. By the time I was getting back to the house, the Husband was just getting home, so we decided to run and grab some dinner real quick. After dinner we went to Best Buy and Kohls and did a little bit of shopping. We topped off the night by going home and watching some TV. Pretty uneventful night.

Saturday morning I got up kind of early, got some breakfast and then headed to the Y to meet my SIL and my Brother for a workout. I showed my SIL a weight lifting workout. I told her she was probably going to hate me the next day. I was right, haha! After the workout I ran a few errands with them and then headed down to my friend V's house to see her and her family for a little bit. After hanging out there I headed home to grab my grocery list and my bags and then did our grocery shopping for the weekend. I also went to a few stores to try and find a shirt to wear for our family pictures. With no luck in finding a shirt I did our grocery shopping and then headed home.

We were supposed to go out for date night Saturday night, but we were both so tired that we decided to just get dinner and then head home. We went to Kneaders and then went home and watched some TV. I couldn't believe how tired I was. And the Husband was the same way. It was 9:30 and I was trying to not fall asleep. On a Saturday. Yeah, we're lame. Whatevs!

Sunday I was up early again. I was meeting my trainer at Red Rocks Open Space at 9 am to do some hiking and cardio. We are only six weeks out from Tough Mudder, so we are trying to kick our training into high gear so that we are as prepared as possible. It was a great hike. He took me back on some trails that I didn't even know existed, so next time the Husband and I go hiking back there, I can take him on those. It was a great workout. And I am slowly getting my shoes for Tough Mudder broken in. They are still rubbing on my heels a bit, but I think with some better socks they are going to be just fine.

After hiking I headed to Gordmans to try and find something to wear for our pictures. Still no luck. I wasn't sure what I was going to do, but then our pictures got cancelled because of the rain, so I guess there was a reason that I wasn't finding anything. I will just have to keep looking. After leaving Gordman's I headed home to meet the Husband and we immediately left to go meet his parent's for some coffee. We spent a good hour or so catching up with his parents and enjoying our coffee. Then it was time to run a few more errands and then head home for the evening.

Like I said, no real big plans just lots of running around. Next weekend however is going to be nuts, so I am glad that I got to rest a little bit this weekend. Hope you all had a great weekend!

Five on Friday

Happy Friday everyone!!!

1-So what if this is my first post of the week. Heck, my first post in a couple of weeks. Ugh! I suck at this blogging consistently thing, haha! Oh well, at least I am posting.

2-This happened on Wednesday night!!! I will have an actual post about it next week.

3-This is going to be the longest day ever! Okay, maybe not ever, but when your boss leaves for the day at 10, it makes it pretty much impossible to get anything done or to stay in your seat for any part of the day.

4-We are doing family pictures this weekend and for the first time ever, I am excited about them. Maybe because I don't hate what I see in pictures anymore!

5-My first mud run is next weekend and I CAN NOT WAIT!!!!!!! I have always loved playing in the mud, so I don't really see how this will be any different. This is just an excuse for me to do it as an adult :)

Have a great weekend everyone!

Weigh-In Wednesday

Happy Hump Day! It's time for Weigh-In Wednesday!

Sorry that this is my first post of the week. Work has been crazy and I just haven't been able to find the time to get a post up. That's how it goes sometimes. Oh well. On to Weigh-In Wednesday.

This week has definitely started out better. I have been very good about my eating. I have found some great low calorie snacks that have been filling me up and incorporating a lot more fruits and veggies. So that's a win/win for me. I don't feel like I am absolutely starving all the time. I also have been trying to chug water when I feel hungry. That helps to make me fill full. Also, chewing gum has helped too. It tricks my mind into thinking that since I am chewing something that I am not hungry. Whatever you gotta do right?

My workouts have been killing me! I had a session on Friday with my trainer and he killed my legs! I think he did it on purpose because he left for vacation for a week and knew he wouldn't see me again for two weeks. So I think he wanted me to not be able to walk, haha! My legs felt like freaking noodles afterwards. And continued to hurt all weekend. He also gave me some workouts to do while he is gone and oh em gee! Talk about being sore. But, I welcome the soreness. It means I am working hard!

Speaking of working out, have I mentioned that I am kind of obsessed with workout clothes? Well, my obsession is going to a whole other level when I see workout tanks like these...

Ummmmm........I HAVE TO HAVE THESE! They are hilarious! And I must get them.

Measurement time. I am back down to where I was two weeks ago at 162. In the past this would have pissed me off because I feel like I am working my ass off and not seeing any results, but I have realized that I don't have a ton of weight to lose anymore. So trying to lose the last 22 lbs is probably going to be a lot harder than the first 60 lbs were. And I am okay with this. I am pretty sure this is normal. I am trying to not stress out about it too much. The more I stress about it, the more the scale doesn't seem to move. So why even do that to myself?!

Something kind of exciting to tell you guys about. I signed up for another mud/obstacle run. It's called the Big Dog Brag. It is on August 2nd and I am really excited about it. I am also signed up for the Dirty Dash on August 16th and like I told you in this post, I am getting ready to sign up for Tough Mudder in September. I am loving that I want to do these things. I love challenging myself and these are definitely going to be a challenge. I can't wait to actually do them and to let you guys know how they go.

That's all I have for today. Happy Hump Day everyone! Have a great rest of your week and if I don't get a chance to post again, Happy 4th of July!
