Five on Friday

This day could not have come at a better time. I don't know about you guys, but I need a break from this week. It started out pretty crappy, but definitely got better, but I still need a few days to recoup.

Figured I would give this Five on Friday a try today.

1-I'm obsessed with painting my nails lately. Not sure why. Just am. I love sitting down and taking a few minutes for myself to do something that just makes me feel good. I know it is just nail polish on my fingernails, but I love it and that is all that matters.

2-Every time I see a damn commercial for the new expansion to Harry Potter World at Universal Studios I freak the eff out. I can not wait to go!! We are already planning our next trip for next May (2015) and I can barely contain my excitement. And I can already taste that delicious Butterbeer!! Yum!!

3-I hate doing laundry. There I said it. I feel like it takes forever. Not to mention I have so many pieces of clothing that can't be dried that I have to hang up and it just gets annoying. Can someone please come do my laundry for me? I'll make you dinner or a dessert. Any takers?

4-This fluffy butt is getting a haircut today! Although I love his fluffiness because it is ridiculously cute, it is summer time and he has been a very hot dog. And he loves going to the groomer. They always send him home in these adorable bandanas and if it is near a Holiday they are usually themed to match it. So I am hoping that they put a really cute patriotic/4th of July one on him. Yes, I realize I am ridiculous, but they just look so damn cute on him!

5-I have been trying to find tickets to see Dierks Bentley at Red Rocks and I just have to say that people are absolutely smoking crack! The general admission tickets were originally $40 before fees and since there aren't any available on the regular website, I have started looking at Craigslist, StubHub and other various websites. Well the cheapest I can find for a freaking general admission ticket is a $100! That is just stupid and crazy and I absolutely refuse to pay it. Which means I probably won't be going. Oh well. Next year I guess.

Well, that's all I have for you guys today. I hope you have a great weekend and get out and do something fun! Happy Friday everyone!

I Might Be Crazy

Or so I have been told when I tell others what I am about to tell you guys.

I am signing up to do a 10-12 mile Tough Mudder in September.

This is about the time that I usually see someones jaw hit the floor and then they proceed to tell me that I am absolutely crazy!

And maybe I am. But if these past eight months have taught me anything about my life and about myself, it's that I can pretty much do whatever I set my mind too.

I think the real question is why wouldn't I want to do something like Tough Mudder? I am only 26 years old. I am in the BEST shape I have ever been in my entire life. So why not push and challenge myself to complete one of the toughest mud obstacle races out there?

And I don't care how long it takes me to finish it. It might take me all day. But guess what, all that matters to me is that I give it my best effort and that I finish! Will I be completely exhausted? Umm..yeah! Will I be covered in mud from head to toe? Absolutely! Will I possibly get electrocuted while running through a few of the obstacles? Yep! And will Arctic Enema probably be the death of me? Quite possibly!

And guess what? I CAN'T FREAKING WAIT!!! Bring it on Tough Mudder!

Weigh-In Wednesday

It's time for Weigh-In Wednesday! Brought to you by me!

I had a big fat epic fail this weekend. I will say this, I am not perfect. I have never claimed to be and will never ever say that I am. And this past Sunday proved that. My trainer wanted me to have a cheat day to throw a wrench into the works. It is supposed to help kick start your metabolism. I do this every so often anyways so I thought nothing of it. Well I apparently cheated a little too hard on Sunday. And I was feeling it. I didn't feel good at all. It made me realize why I quit eating that way to begin with. And when I got on the scale Monday morning and was up almost 5 lbs, I had a minor panic attack. And was about to burst into tears.

A zillion thoughts raced through my head. How could I let myself do that? Why did I have that slice of pizza? I should have only had one cheat meal instead of a whole day of cheating. You name it, it was going through my head. I was pissed. I was pissed at myself for doing what I did. And I continued to beat myself up for it all day on Monday which led to me being in a shitty mood. The only thing that put me in a better mood was when I went to Zumba. It is crazy how one workout can change your entire mood.

So here's what I learned from Sunday. Again, I am not perfect and I will screw up from time to time. It's bound to happen. I also learned that I don't enjoy eating like that any more either. When you are shoving your face full of un-healthy food and telling yourself the whole time that you shouldn't be eating this, you know you have changed your ways. Does that mean I don't want the occasional piece of chocolate or Oreo from time to time? Absolutely not! But that doesn't mean I can't have them in moderation every now and then. Moderation! That is the key!!!

I am happy to say that I am down four lbs from my binge eating this weekend and only up one from where I was last Wednesday. I will take that. I am usually at a + or - 1 to 2 lbs on a daily basis, so I am back within my range of where I should be.

Still going strong on my workouts. I swear I live at the gym anymore. I spend more time at the gym than I feel like I spend with my Husband some days. But I don't think he minds ;)

Other than my awful eating on Sunday I have gotten back on track. I have found some new snacks that are lower calorie and filling me up more. I discovered cucumber slices dipped in guacamole and oh my eff! Deliciousness! Overall things are going well. I need to remember not to beat myself up so much when I slip up. I'm human and it happens. But the best thing I can do is pick myself up and move on with my life and remember that every day is a new day and always a great day to get better!

Weekend Recap

Good Morning! Sorry for the day delay, but the weekend and yesterday just got away from me. Not to mention I was in a craptastic mood yesterday and writing any sort of post would have resulted in it just being whiny and not full of sunshine and rainbows. So yeah, there's that.

This weekend was busy! Friday night was probably the least busy out of all of it. I had a session with my trainer right after work, so I headed over there and got my sweat on for a good half hour to forty-five minutes and then headed home to get ready to go out on a date night with two of my favorite boys, my Husband and his best friend Bret.

We went to Kneaders for dinner which was delicious as always. Afterwards we headed back to our place and turned on Netflix. We started watching the first season of The Office because I was told by a few people at work that I needed to watch this show. I got about two episodes in and I could feel myself falling asleep. The show was hilarious, but I was apparently exhausted, so I headed up to bed.

Saturday I was up early because I offered to help my friends out with a landscaping job that they were doing. They picked me up at around 7:45 and after a Starbucks stop, we were on our way. The rock for the job didn't show up until around 10:30 so we had a little bit of downtime which we spent at garage sales around the neighborhood. Then once the rock showed up, we got to work. We spent all day shoveling and moving 20 tons of rock. We didn't finish up until about 8 pm and by that point, we were exhausted. We grabbed some dinner on our way back down and then headed home where I immediately jumped in the shower to get all the dirt off of me. It was disgusting, but I felt a zillion times better. I then proceeded to pass the eff out. It had been a long day!

Sunday we woke up around 8 and started to get ready for the day. We headed out to breakfast with our friends to this little cafe called The Breakfast Club. And ironically when we walked in the door Simple Minds "Don't You Forget About Me" was playing. It was perfect. It was a really cute cafe that was decorated in all 80's themed memorabilia. And the food was amazing! It was some of the best french toast I have ever had! Yum!

After breakfast we headed home and just relaxed for a little while and watched some more episodes of The Office. Around 3ish I started to get myself ready to go out to dinner. Myself and a few of my friends took another friend of ours out to dinner for his birthday. We went to Red Lobster. The food was delicious like always and we had a good time just hanging out and chatting.

After I left dinner I went and did my grocery shopping for the week and then headed home. I vegged out on the couch the rest of the night. I was exhausted from such a long weekend.

Like I said, it was busy. And this weekend is looking to be the same. How was your weekend? Do anything fun?

Weigh-In Wednesday

It's Wednesday which means it is time to bring back my Weigh-In Wednesday posts!! Whoot whoot!!

Not gonna lie, I missed doing these posts once a week. I just looked and the last one I posted was on April 2nd. That was two and a half months ago. So needless to say, I have some major updates for you guys today!

Let's start with my nutrition. Things seem to be going okay here. I have been struggling a bit these last few weeks because we cut my calorie intake down from 1550 calories a day to 1450 a day. You wouldn't think that a 100 calories would be a big difference, but it really is! You notice it, especially when you are starving and don't have any calories left for the day. It sucks. My biggest issue has been that I need to find some different snacks. I love Peanut Butter and I love mixed nuts which are very healthy and all around good for you. However, the calories are very high and on their own don't fill me. So I have been working on pairing them with different fruits and veggies to try and find something more filling. It's a work in progress for sure, but I think I am figuring things out.

Then add the fact that any day that I am not lifting weights, I have to keep my carbs under 30 g a day and that throws a whole other wrench into it. It hasn't been easy navigating through all of the nutritional changes, but once I do get things figured out, I do pretty well with it.

My workouts are more consistent than ever. I am still doing Zumba on Tuesdays and Thursdays and sometimes on Saturdays. It depends on what is going on that weekend. And I am lifting weights on Monday, Wednesday and Fridays. I feel myself getting stronger each day in the gym and it is a feeling that I am seriously in love with. Not to mention that I have some serious definition on my arms, it is pretty freaking cool. I amaze myself more and more everyday with how much I am able to accomplish. It has made me realize that I really can do whatever I put my mind too. As long as I work hard, I will be able to accomplish it and it is a pretty cool feeling.

Now for the good stuff. As of my last Weigh-In Wednesday post, I was at 177 lbs. As of this morning I am down to 163.2. That is another 13.8 lbs, which puts my total weight loss at 59 lbs since November of 2013. That is huge! I can't even begin to tell you how proud I am of everything I have accomplished. Although my weight loss seems to have slowed down these past few months ( I was losing about 10 lbs a month there for a while) I am still pushing myself as hard as possible and still seeing results. No matter how small the results are, they are still results and I will take that any day!

Just a few more things I want to mention. When I started this whole journey back in November I was wearing a size 18 in jeans and anywhere from a L to an XXL in tops. As of today I am in size 9 jeans and most of my tops are either Smalls or Mediums. I still can't believe how much my body has changed in these past eight months. It is crazy. And then you see a picture like this and just think WHOA!!! I have changed a lot!

That's all I have for today's Weigh-In Wednesday. Thanks for stopping by and seeing how things are going. Hope you guys are having a fabulous Hump Day!

Oh Hail No!

Yesterday I told you guys that I had to go get my passenger side mirror fixed on my car. And I didn't really tell you what happened, just that it was a post for another day. Well how about today?!

I remember this day very clearly. It was May 21st and I had just left On The Border where I had lunch with my Brother, my SIL, my youngest Niece and my Nephew. We had spent all day at my Nieces Field Day, so we were starving. so we grabbed some lunch. After lunch I decided to head to the gym before going home since it was on my way.

When I got there it was nice and sunny out. It was gorgeous out. I didn't think anything of it. I went into the gym and proceeded to get my sweat on. I was just finishing up my workout when all of a sudden it got incredibly loud in the gym. It sounded like it was just raining really hard, but I thought I would check it out and make sure that everything was okay. So I went to the front of the gym and looked out the window to find that this was happening...

Queue freak out! My brand new, only had it for three months, car was sitting out in this awful hail storm. I was freaking out. Yes, I know I have insurance, but it is still hard to sit there and watch your car get pounded by hail. And I just kept thinking to myself, why couldn't I have just been lazy today? My car would have been home in the garage right now if I would have just decided to be lazy!

At this point there was nothing that I could do, so I finished my workout and then once the rain and the hail calmed the eff down, I headed out to my car.  When I got out there, I couldn't really see any damage, but it was still raining and the car was covered in water, so I figured I would take a look at it when I got it home and got in the garage.

So I get in my car and I go to start it and for some reason I happened to look over at my passenger side mirror and this is what I saw...

I burst into tears. At this point I knew that if my mirror had this much damage that there was probably more all over the car. On my way home I called the insurance company to let them know what had happened and they filed my claim and all that good stuff.

As I drove home and the car dried off, all of a sudden I started seeing little dings all over the hood of the car and all along the doors on the drivers side. I knew at that point that it wasn't going to be pretty. Once I got home and pulled into the garage and really got a good look at it, I just started crying again. My pretty new car was so beat up. And there was nothing I could do about it.

Fast forward to a week and a half later and I was finally able to get in to get the estimate done on the damage. When it is all said and done, just over $8,000 worth of damage. Yikes! Thank god for a $250 deductible or that would have been a nightmare for me to pay for!

And to top it all off the body shop can't get my car in until July!! But I couldn't go without a mirror for that long, so I had my Dad order the part and got that fixed as soon as I could.

I know it will all be fixed and the car will look brand new again, but it is still hard to deal with. You work so hard for something and you finally get it and then you try to take care of it and keep it as nice as possible and then something like this happens that you have no control over. That is life though I guess.

We Were On A Break!!!

Hello Blog World!!! I feel like it has been forever! Oh wait, that's because it has been, ha! I don't know what it was, but I just needed a break from blogging. I can't really explain why. I just needed it.

But I think it is time for my break to be over and get back into the swing of things. I find myself missing it more and more each day, so I think that is a great sign that I need to get back to it.

I feel like so much has happened since I took my hiatus. So much that I wouldn't even know where to begin to catch everyone up. Instead of trying to remember everything and anything that I wanted to tell you guys, I am just going to dive back in and start with a weekend recap.

This was the first weekend in a long time that I didn't really have any plans. I took Friday off from work. I started my day by meeting up with my personal trainer and we climbed the Manitou Incline. It was the first time I have done this in two years and I was a little nervous because it took me forever last time and I got pretty sick about half way up. This time however was a lot different! We made it up in just under an hour and I didn't get sick. I am pretty damn proud of this accomplishment. I can't wait to start doing it more often.

After conquering the beast that is the Incline, I headed to my Dad's work to get my passenger side mirror fixed on my car. Why it is broken is a post for another day. After that I headed to the mall to kill some time. I ended up going and getting some food from one of my favorite places. PB & Jellies. They have delicious Peanut Butter and Jelly sandwiches. Yum! And I dropped my ring off to get sized and also purchased a few new Maxi dresses. It was a good trip.

I had an eye appointment to get contacts Friday afternoon. That was definitely interesting. I have only been wearing glasses for two and a half years and have never worn contacts, but I have gotten to the point lately that I can't stand my glasses. So I went in and they showed me how to put them in and take them out. That was a whole lotta fun!

After I left the eye doctors I had a few hours before I had to meet back up with my trainer for our regularly scheduled session, so I went home and just chilled for a bit. Once it was time I headed out for my session. Even though I was already pretty tired from doing the Incline earlier in the day, it felt great to lift. My trainer pushed me til I felt like I was going to die, but that's the norm.

After I left there I headed to my Brothers so that I could babysit my Nieces and my Nephew for the rest of the night. It was a pretty uneventful night. We watched some TV, had some dinner. Nothing too extravagant.

Saturday I woke up and sent the Husband on his way for the weekend (Hello! House to myself for the weekend!). He headed up to Denver for the weekend with a friend and to visit his parents. I got myself ready, had some breakfast and then went to Zumba. After class I ran to the bank and did some grocery shopping and then headed home where I proceeded to be lazy the rest of the day. I spent some time laying out on our back porch where I got an awesome sun burn on my stomach and back. Yay me! I took a nap, I watched some TV and made some dinner. It was a great day of relaxing.

Enjoying the sun!
Sunday was much of the same. I picked up around the house. I made these delicious Banana Chocolate Chip Muffins from the the Skinnytaste Website. OMG! They are scrumptious! I watched some TV, I took the dog for a walk and then dropped him off at home and went on a run. He makes running too difficult. He likes to trip me, it isn't pretty. I made dinner and then waited for the Husband to get home. It was a very relaxing day.

This weekend was just what I needed. I haven't had a weekend to just relax in a long time. And it felt great. But I think it will be my last relaxing one for a while. Summer is starting to pick up and we have so many things planned already. I can't wait to tell you guys more about them. Hope you have a great Monday everyone!
