Friday Ramblings

Happy Friday my lovely followers!

Just a few Friday Ramblings for you today.

My trainer approached me at the gym last night and asked me to write a review/testimonial about working with him over the past three months. I of course said yes because he is bad ass. But now I am stuck. I don't know what to say. I mean he is awesome, but how do I put that into words that will hopefully help him get more clients in the future? Any suggestions or advice on how to write something like this?

The Super Bowl is this Sunday! AAAAGGGHHHH! My anxiety and nerves are starting to sink in already. It is going to be a long weekend leading up to this game. And my beloved Broncos, please don't break my heart. Please win this game!!!! I might not make it to Monday if you don't. Okay, I will.
But still!

I know that I have been horrible about posting lately. And I am sorry for that. Work and the gym are really the things to blame for this. After February though, work should be slowing down a bit and hopefully I will be able to get back on track with posting five days a week. Thanks for still reading though. I really do appreciate those of you who have stuck around!

For the first time in my life, I have actually been enjoying the acrylic nails that I had done. I have been able to keep them short enough that they aren't bugging the crap out of me. We will see how long this lasts though.

Wednesday night I was just crawling into bed when I got a Facebook message from my bestie Lou asking if I wanted to Skype. I immediately jumped up out of bed and turned on the light and my computer. Was it late? Yes. Was it worth it? Absolutely! Best decision I made all week if you ask me. Talking to your best friend about anything and everything is only the best thing ever! And I got to see and talk to her adorable little girl (who I am adopting as another Niece because I can). It made my whole week that much better. I love you and miss you Lou and Baby G!!

I am currently working on my SIL's baby shower and it is making me so excited for my new Nephew's arrival. I can't wait to meet him! Soon enough! Eeeekkk!!!

You know what sucks? Finding out you owe money on your taxes instead of getting money back. Yep! That happened to us this year. Which means that the timeline of getting our new car just got pushed back again. Ugh! Oh well. Shit happens.

Okay guys, that is all I have for today. I hope you guys have a fantastic weekend. And GO BRONCOS!!!!!!!!

Weigh-In Wednesday

It's Wednesday! Which makes me a horrible blogger this week. Yep, first post of the week, on a Wednesday. Oh well. Shit happens. Life happens, I got busy. Nothing more to it. But, it is Wednesday, so lets get to some Weigh-In Wednesday!

This week has been way better than last week. I am finally feeling like I am getting back into the swing of things with eating and with my workout routines. Not that they were completely out of whack, but I just felt kind of blah and out of it. Especially during workouts. But this past week was way better with that. Still kept up with my six days a week at the gym. And I didn't go over board on food this week. I was a very good girl and stayed within my calories for the most part.

Now for the good stuff! Today's weight...194.2! I am down 3.2 lbs from last week!!! Whoop whoop!!! I still can't believe that I am under 200 some days. It is like my mind forgets because I have been in the 200's for so long. And then I get on the scale in the mornings and I get excited when I see that one on the front of my weight. And crazy enough, I am almost out of the 190's which is just even crazier to me! I just can't contain my excitement with how well this lifestyle change is going. For the first time ever, I finally feel like I am going to get to my goal weight. And that is exciting.

I realized this morning that it has been a while since I did measurements too, but I didn't have time this morning. I am going to try my hardest to do those for next week. I am kind of excited to see the difference in inches. I have definitely seen it in all of my clothes. None of my jeans fit anymore. They are all too big!!! I love saying that! And my shirts are starting to get bigger and bigger. Not to mention that all my gym clothes are starting to get too big as well. Sounds like I might need to go shopping. Darn!

Onto my goals for the week. The Super Bowl is this weekend and my beloved Broncos are in it!!! And usually this day in particular is very hard for me eating wise, so I definitely want to make healthier choices when it comes to eating this Sunday. I know I can do it. I just need to treat it like I did the Holidays. And I need to add my water goal back in here. I haven't been drinking nearly enough water again. So back on track with that too!

And last but not least, my biggest goal for the week is to be down to 190 or below by the time that Weigh-In Wednesday rolls around next week!!! It is a pretty big goal, but I can do it if I work hard at it!

Okay guys, that is all I have for today. Thank you so much for stopping by today! And I hope that you are all having a fabulous week. And I will try to actually post a little bit more this week :) Have a great day!

Friday Ramblings

Happy Friday everyone!

Just a few random ramblings for you today. Nothing big or exciting, just things that I have on my mind.

First, I am soooooo excited about the baby shower invites that I just ordered for my SIL's shower! I can't wait to see how they turn out. And I am excited to see how this Camo themed baby shower is going to turn out. Yes, you read that right, I said Camo themed, haha!

Getting a raise at work is a great thing! It has put us in a better situation to get a few things paid off and hopefully get my new car sooner! Eeekk! I can't wait to see what a few months of strict budgeting will do for us!

Work has been absolutely insane! I always forget that this time of year is bananas! Not only do we have our audit coming up, but we have year end to finish, 1099's to get out and not to mention open enrollment for our health benefits. A lot of big stuff all at once. It equals a very crazy and run down Megan.

With the above being said, my schedule has been so crazy. After work I head to the gym and am there for a few hours. By the time I get home it is 8 and then I still have to make dinner. So after dinner I am pretty much done and I go to bed. Which has been a big reason I have been slacking on writing posts and on reading everyone's blogs. One of these days I will get caught up. I promise.

I am ready for this weekend. I don't have anything big planned. I am hopefully going to get a few things done around the house and then  hopefully I can spend most of my weekend relaxing. Haha! Yeah, that probably won't happen, but I can hope right?!

Okay guys, that is all I have for today. Hope your Friday flies by and that you have a great weekend!

Weigh-In Wednesday

I am so excited that it is already Wednesday! Not only are we already half way through the work week, but it's also time for Weigh-In Wednesday!

This past week was kind of up and down as far as eating goes. There were a few little miss steps, but I am not perfect and I am trying to bounce back from them. I have been keeping up with going to the gym though. I actually haven't taken a day off from the gym since the 12th of this month. So as long as I can keep that up and get my eating back under control, I think everything will start moving in the right direction again.

Weight-197.4 down a lb from last week. Hey a lb is still a lb! And I will take it anywhere that I can get it! But I have some even better news! At my training session on Monday, my trainer did my body fat percentage again and...I am down another 3% on my body fat! And that is just in the last three weeks!!!!! Whoop whoop!!!

This week I am going to work hard at getting back on track with eating. Even though my slip ups last week weren't huge, I need to get them under control and not let them happen again for a very long time. I mean I get that it is okay to indulge every once in a while, but I allowed myself to do that twice last week and that is just not okay! So here is to a new week and to getting back on track and losing some more weight!

Happy Wednesday everyone!

3 Day Weekend Recap

Okay well kind of a three day weekend. I had to work for a little bit yesterday morning, but was off the rest of the day, so I will count it as a three day weekend.

Friday was pretty low key once again. Went to the gym, then grabbed some Subway on the way home for dinner. We just watched TV the rest of the night. It was really the only relaxing part of the weekend.

Saturday I had to get up early and put our Christmas tree out on the curb so the Boy Scouts could come pick it up. After I put the tree out, I got some breakfast and then headed to the gym for Zumba. After Zumba was over I headed over to the nail salon to get my nails filled. They had already grown out so much in the two weeks since I had them done. After that I headed to Ulta to get a few things that I needed.

I have to say that one thing that bugs the crap out of me is when you finally find a color of eyeshadow that you like and then you go back to get more and they don't have it! It is annoying! Luckily I was able to order it online, but still! Sometimes being a girl just seems like too much work and causes too many problems. Just saying!

After I left Ulta and only spent $15 (that was a miracle in itself) I went home to get ready to go out with my friend V. I picked V up around 5:30 and we headed out to her Mom's house for Ladies Night. We had some great food, some great conversation and just a great time. I did pretty good with eating healthy too except for the brownie that I had. I felt bad the rest of the weekend though after eating it. I guess that is good though. We headed back home around 11:30 and after dropping V off, I got home a little after midnight.

My food for the night. The chips were made out of beans.
V's Mom's dog eyeballing the bowl of food on the table next to him. Too funny!
Sunday I tried sleeping in but I was too anxious so it didn't happen. So we got up and got our errands done for the day. Then we took the dog on a walk and then it was time for the Broncos game. It was a great game to watch and both teams played hard!

On our walk with Louie!
After the game was over I decided that since I had that brownie the night before that I needed to go to the gym. I was still feeling guilty about it. So I went and walked on the treadmill at various inclines and speeds for an hour. I followed it up with some stretching and holy crap did I feel good afterwards.

I spent the rest of Sunday night doing nothing. I was tired and I knew I had to be up early so I went to bed early too.

Monday morning rolled around and I had to get the Husband to work by 8 and I had to head into the office as well even though technically yesterday was a paid Holiday for us. But I had to get some stuff done for payroll. Believe it or not, employees don't like it if they don't get paid. Who would have thunk it?!

After I got my stuff done at work, I headed back home. It was about noon by the time I got home, so I got myself some lunch and then got to work on cleaning the house. I cleaned for almost five hours. I was so exhausted by the time I had to leave to go pick up Aran from work. And then not to mention I had a session with my personal trainer later that night.

Louie was trying to get my lunch. He thought it was for him!
After I picked up Aran and we grabbed some dinner, I headed to the gym to meet with my trainer. He then proceeded to KILL my legs. Oy! I could barely walk after leaving the gym. And he was smirking about it the whole time. He was fully aware that he was killing me and he enjoyed every second of it.

After I was done at the gym I headed home and proceeded to do nothing. My legs were so sore that I just didn't even want to move.

And that was my weekend. It was nice having a little extra time. I got a lot of cleaning done that I haven't had time for lately, so that was definitely nice. And the weather here this weekend was absolutely beautiful. It was no jacket weather which was amazing!

How was everyone else's weekend? Do anything fun and exciting?

Friday's Letters

Good morning everyone! And Happy Friday!!

Dear People Driving This Morning,
Learn how to stay in your freaking lane!!!! How hard is it to stay within those two lines? Gah!!!!!!!

Dear 5:30 am,
You come entirely too soon. And early. I would appreciate it if you would just slow down a little bit and take your time coming around each morning. Thanks!

Dear Kitties,
I promise you are not starving. You get fed twice a day. And yes, I realize that your Dad is really slow in the mornings when it comes to feeding you, but that doesn't mean that you have to knock every single thing you can find off of my nightstand and annoy the crap out of me! Go bug him. He's the one that won't get out of bed to feed you.

Dear Husband and Louie(the dog),
I don't appreciate you two pushing me out of bed last night. Louie you took up half the bed on your own. You weigh all of 12 lbs! You don't need half of the bed. And Husband,  you need to push him over if he does that to you again. Don't push me out, push the dog! If this happens again, you are going to have a very angry Wife in the morning. And I promise it won't be pretty :)

Dear Winter,
If you are going to be cold, at least send some snow. Sheesh! At this rate, I am ready for summer. I am tired of it being cold with no snow. I would rather it just be warm.

Dear Guys at the Gym,
You do not own the place! I pay just as much to be there every day as you do! And don't try and intimidate me off of the machine I am using because you need it. Screw you! You can have it when I am done, which might not be for a while since you are being an ass hole! Just saying.

Dear Ladies Night,
I am really excited that you are finally going to be here tomorrow. I sooooo need some time out to just have fun and think about nothing!

Dear Wes Welker Raffle,
Please pick me! I would love to go to the game this weekend and meet you! So yeah, draw my name!!!

Dear Broncos( K and Britt, don't read this one, haha!),
Don't break my heart this weekend please. So how about we play a full four quarters this weekend and win this game so that we can go to the Super Bowl?! Got it!! Thanks!

Dear Broncos Nation,
If you are going to the game this weekend, I fully expect you to be screaming your ass off. I want it to be so loud there that you can't hear the person next to you! Do your job as a fan and take one for the team and lose your voice because you are screaming so loud!

Okay, that is all I have for today. Hope everyone has a great weekend! And Go Broncos!!!

I Got Nothing

It must be something about this time of year, but for some reason, I always hit a road block when it comes to ideas to blog about. Maybe it is the fact that my work days are just so mentally draining that by the time I get home and need to actually think of something to write, my brain is fried and can't think anymore. Yeah, we will go with that, haha!

With that being said, I have no real content for you today. Sorry! I wish I could come up with something profound and amazing to write, but yeah, it isn't coming to me. But, with that being said, I thought this would be a good time to ask if there is anything in particular that you guys want to see on here. More DIY projects? More on my weight loss journey? More giveaways (who doesn't want more of these?!)?  Just let me know and I will do my best to try and get some different content on here.

Or do you have anything specific that you want to know about me? I try to be as open and honest about myself as possible, but if there is something specific that I have never mentioned or you have been curious about, let me know! Maybe I can turn all of your questions into my first vlog. That is if I can figure out how to get everything to upload correctly, haha! Damn technology!

Okay guys, that is all my brain can handle right now. Sorry for such a short post. Hope you guys are all having a great week. One day closer to the weekend! I just need to keep telling myself that, haha! Have a great day everyone!

Weigh-In Wednesday

It's already Wednesday?! Thank goodness! I am ready for the weekend to be here. Let's get today's blogging party started.

It's Weigh-In Wednesday!

I don't think I have ever been so excited about a Weigh-In Wednesday post. Why? Oh I don't know. Maybe because this happened last Friday...

Good thing I got that pedicure last weekend!
That's right! This girl finally broke through to the 100's and had a small dance party in her bathroom shortly after taking the above photo!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I am officially in onderland and I am not turning back!! I can't even begin to describe to you how huge this is for me! Getting below 200 was always where I stopped in the past. I would get stuck and would give up. But not this time! I kept pushing and my hard work finally paid off!!

And I have even dropped a little bit more since this photo was taken last Friday. I am down to 198.4 which is almost three lbs down from last weeks post. I am glad to see that my body is still responding to everything that I am trying to do for it.

Still going to the gym six days a week. Monday and Tuesday of this week I felt kind of blah though. Not sure why, but just wasn't feeling the workout. Maybe that means it is time for me to start changing things up a bit in my workouts.

I also purchased more personal training sessions last night. They were having a special on them since they were having an open house to encourage more people to join the gym. So I got four more sessions with my bad ass trainer for $99, which makes each session about $25ish and I usually pay $30, so I thought it was worth it.

I decided that since I hit one of my biggest goals of getting under 200 that it was time to set a new big goal! After doing a little bit of thinking, I couldn't come up with any specific number that I wanted to get down to. I really just want to keep losing and see where that gets me. Ultimately I would love to be in the 140's. I know is still almost 60 lbs away, but why couldn't I do it? I mean I have already lost over 30 lbs so what is another 60 at this point? So I am just going to set my goal as my end goal now! And along the way if I come up with something else, I will throw that in as an added goal, but for now my sights are set on the finish line!

Real quick before I end this post, I just wanted to say thank you to all of my amazing followers. The comments that I have been getting from all of you throughout this process have meant more than you know. And you guys telling me that I am inspiring you is not something that I realized would happen through this, but I am happy that I can be anyone's inspiration. And I know that losing weight is different for everybody since our bodies are all so different, but if there is ever anything you have questions about i.e. workouts that I am doing, what I am eating, how many calories am I consuming etc., please don't hesitate to ask. I have learned a lot throughout these past few months and I would be happy to share all of it with you. You guys rock and thank you for following along on this journey!

Have a great day everyone!

Weekend Recap

Well, it's Monday. Dang! What happened to the weekend? It was gone before I could even blink. Oh well. Back to the grind I guess.

My weekend was pretty uneventful. Friday night after getting off work and dropping the Husband off at home, I headed to the gym. I spent a good two hours there. And after the day that I had at work, I definitely needed the distraction. It was nice to get away from everything for a few hours.

After I left the gym, I grabbed some dinner to take home for the Hubs and myself and then did nothing the rest of the night. It was glorious. And since I knew that I had a long day ahead of me on Saturday, I went to bed a little early. I know, I know! We really know how to party it up on a Friday night!

Saturday morning I woke up and went to the gym. This time for an hour of Zumba. After I sweated my ass off at Zumba, I very quickly got dressed and then headed out to meet my friend KB for a celebratory lunch! Our least favorite coach on the planet had announced on Friday that he was leaving the Colorado Rapids and going to FC Dallas. So we decided that a lunch was in order to celebrate his departure. At least it made for a good excuse for us to go have some delicious food at Salsa Brava.

After we were done with lunch I actually had to head into work for a few hours. Things have been so crazy at work that I just have not been able to accomplish a lot during the day because of all the distractions/interruptions. So it kind of became necessary to get caught up to go in for a few hours. And my time was well spent. I got some things done that I hadn't had the time to do earlier in the week, so really it ended up being a very productive three hours. And because of those three hours, I will hopefully be a lot less stressed this week. Fingers crossed anyways.

After I left work, I had a few places that I had to go to, so I did all of that running around before heading home. I once again grabbed some dinner to take home and then the Hubby and I spent the rest of the night watching Football. Again, just another low key and kind of relaxing night.

Sunday morning I tried to sleep in but it didn't happen. But it ended up working out because I had a ton of crap to do before the Broncos game, so it was good that I was up early. First thing I did was go do all of our grocery shopping for the week. Once I was done with that my Brother and his family came over for a few minutes to pick something up from us. And after they left we went on a short walk with our dog, Louie. Of course this freak snow storm had rolled in on us when we were walking, so we kept the walk kind of short.

The rest of the day was spent cleaning, cooking and watching my Broncos beat the Chargers. Not going to lie, the game was making me have really bad anxiety. Especially towards the end. Ugh! It was awful. But in the end we pulled out the win and are moving onto the AFC Championship game. I am excited about this, but not excited to be playing the Patriots. It is definitely going to be a good and probably very close game. But let's not worry about that til next Sunday!

How was everyone else's weekend? Did you guys do anything fun? Hope you all had a great weekend. And I hope your Monday goes by quickly and painlessly! Have a great day everyone!

Friday Letters

Oh my gosh I am so excited that Friday is here! It has been a long and draining week and I am ready for some down time. With that being said, lets dive into some letters!

Dear Friday,
Thank you for finally arriving. Enough said!

Dear Work,
Could you please calm the eff down? I seriously don't know how to even keep up anymore other than staying late and coming in on the weekends and this girl is not about to do that too often. So if you could just chillax, I would appreciate it!

Dear Gym,
I get that everyone is trying to start their new year off right, but holy eff, I wish you weren't so busy! When I can't even get on a machine to do something, we have a problem. But I still love you!

Dear Zumba,
Thank you for kicking my ass every Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday. My ass really does appreciate it!

Dear Personal Trainer,
Thanks for kicking my ass as well. And also thank you for making me feel like a bad ass after learning how to do dead lifts. Pretty proud of that right there.

Dear New Socks,
You are so soft and comfy and I love you. Haha! Yes, I love my new socks that much. I am a weirdo, I know.

Dear Self,
So this happened this morning...

That's right. I am officially out of the 200's and I am so proud of myself for finally accomplishing this goal! I am nowhere near my end goal, but I am that much closer! I officially weigh less than what my license says! Boom!

Okay, that is all I have for you guys today. I am so happy that it is Friday. And I hope that you guys have a fantastic weekend! And Go Broncos!!!!

Weigh-In Wednesday

Happy Hump Day everyone! After a three week hiatus, it is time to get back on track with Weigh-In Wednesdays. Let's get to it.

Although I haven't been posting on Wednesdays, I have been keeping up with my healthy eating habits and exercising. And keeping up with that through the Holidays was not easy, but guess what? I did it! So I can no longer use the Holidays as an excuse for not eating healthy and staying on track because in reality, for me anyways, it really wasn't that difficult.

Let's get to the good stuff. I seriously have been working my ass off! I have been keeping up with going to the gym six days a week. Three of those days I do Zumba and the other three days I am doing weights and a little bit of cardio. And with each workout I can feel my body changing. I feel it getting stronger and leaner. And this is a change that I am absolutely loving.

Okay, let's look at my measurements.

Holy shiz!!! I didn't realize until I looked at this how much I had really lost. I mean I knew the number attached to the lbs, but inches wise, I didn't realize that I had lost so much in some areas. As you can see, I am down to 201.2. I have lost a total of 21 lbs since the beginning of November and a total of 31.4 lbs from when I was at my heaviest in the 230's.

I am so freaking close to getting into onederland and being out of the 200's! I am really wanting to get under that 200 lb mark by next week's WIW. I know I can do it! I just need to really push myself this week, especially since my body feels like it is stalling on the weight loss right now. But I am going to keep pushing through!

Something that I think has really helped me this time around, aside from the trainer, is the weight loss challenge that I am doing right now. My best friend Lou is a Beach Body Coach, so she decided to throw together a challenge group. Although we are all there to try and lose weight and win the cash prize at the end, I have really received a lot of extra support from the other girls in the group. And you wouldn't believe what that does to your self esteem and drive. It has been one of the best things for me. And even after the challenge is over, I know I can turn to any of these girls for support if I am having troubles getting motivated.

The only real goal I am setting for myself is to get under that 200 lb mark by next week. I am finally at a point where I feel comfortable with my gym routine and my eating, so I  just want to stay consistent with that. And of course, drinking more water is always a priority too. So I guess throw that in there as a goal as well.

That is all I have for you guys today. Thanks for stopping by and checking in on my progress. I hope that you are having a great week and that the rest of it goes by quickly!

2 Years! Say What?!

Two years ago today I married my best friend. I can't believe that it has been two years already. It feels like it was a few months ago.

This past year has just flown by. And although not much has changed in our lives, we have definitely grown closer as a couple. We have had our ups and our downs. We are nowhere near perfect. But we love each other and support each other and that is all that matters.

Happy Anniversary baby! I love you so much and I can't wait to celebrate even more anniversaries in the future.

Weekend Recap

Well hello there! Remember me? Yeah, I have been MIA quite a bit lately. I blame the Holidays. Everything was just so hectic, it made it hard to find time to blog. Or do anything for that matter. But, now that things are slowing down, I am ready to get back to blogging. So let's get right back into the swing of things with my recap of this past weekend.

Even though I only had to work two days last week, by the time Friday afternoon rolled around, I was completely drained and exhausted from work and needed the weekend in the worst way. After picking up the Husband from work, we headed to the gym. The gym has become my stress relief. I go there, put my head phones on, blast some great music, shut the world out and go to town on my workouts. It's one of the best feelings.

After working out for a few hours, we left the gym and grabbed some dinner from one of our fave places, Garbanzo. It was delicious as always. We spent the rest of our night at home just doing nothing. I think I even went to bed early that night. I was pretty tired after all.

Saturday morning I woke up and headed to the gym for Zumba. After Zumba I stayed at the gym for a bit longer and walked on the treadmill just to get some extra steps and cardio in. After I was done there, I went and got my eyebrows waxed and then headed home so that I could wait for my Brother and my Sis-In-Law to bring my little Niece Rylei over so that I could watch her for a few hours.

They showed up a little bit before 2 and then left for a few hours to go see a movie. Miss Rylei and I hung out and watched some TV, had some snacks and played out in the snow for a little bit. And I just have to add that I am the coolest Aunt ever since I gave Miss Rylei chocolate chips. At least she seemed to think so!

After their movie was over, my Brother and Sis-In-Law came and picked Rylei up. After they left we didn't really do much the rest of the night. We cooked dinner and watched TV. We were both pretty tired and just wanted to relax the rest of the night, so we just sat around watching TV.

Sunday we both slept in for a little bit, but I eventually couldn't sleep any longer and got up to get my day started. I ate some breakfast and then headed out to get my nails done. I rarely go pay to get my nails done, but every now and then I get a wild hair and want to go have someone else do them. And I have been working really hard at my weight loss, so I decided that I deserved it. The Hubby agreed and even offered it to be my anniversary gift, so I jumped on that. I went and got a pedicure and a full set of acrylics done.

I have to say that the best part of the pedicure is the massage chair and the leg massage that you receive. My legs have been super tight from working out so much, so it was very much needed and felt amazing. And I decided to support my favorite football team with my nail color. The guy that did them did a great job too!

After pampering myself for a little bit, I went and did our grocery shopping for the week and then headed home. I spent the rest of the evening doing ridiculous amounts of laundry and cleaning up our bedroom.

It was a great weekend with lots of relaxing. I hope there are many more relaxing weekends in my future because this one was much needed. How was your weekend? Did you do anything fun?
