Something That Bothers Me

Bad customer service. Yep, that's right, I can't stand it when people have bad customer service. I mean who likes a company that has bad customer service? I'm pretty sure that is no one!

You might be asking why I am bringing this up. So for today's post let's go back three weeks ago when I contacted a seller on Etsy about a baby shower invite that I was absolutely in love with for my friends online baby shower. So after writing this particular seller with my questions and concerns(because I am a perfectionist) I decided that I was ready to order.

So I went to her listing and low and behold, it was gone. So I contacted her and asked about it. She emailed me back and told me that she was on vacation and wouldn't be back until the 17th at which time she would put the listings back up. I was kind of upset by this, because she hadn't mentioned this at all in any of our conversations and she didn't have this memo on her shop at all and still had other listings up. And I wanted to have the invitations in the mail before the 17th, but I loved the design so much that I decided to wait an additional two weeks so that I could get this particular design.

So yesterday I go back to her Etsy shop(it was the 17th after all) and the listing was still not up. So I emailed her once again letting her know that I was ready to order and that I was still waiting for her to put the listing up. And then I got a reply back from her. This reply sent me into a state of frustration and made me want to kill her. Her reply stated that after much consideration and planning, she decided that she was no longer going to be offering this design.

WTF!!!!! Really? And you couldn't have told me this two weeks ago when I tried to order these from you? Or you couldn't have told me this when we first started discussing this particular design. No, instead you strung me along for three weeks only to waste my time and leave me stuck with no invite whatsoever. An invite that should have already been in the mail!!!!!

As you can probably read, I am really pissed off about this whole situation. I understand that people have the right to not sell something anymore in their stores, but if you are even considering something like that and you know that you have interested parties, you should at least have the courtesy to tell them that there is a possibility of the design being discontinued so that they know in advance that at any point that design could be gone. And I am sorry but that is just no way to run a business!

Honestly if she would have told me that from the beginning, I would have probably not given the invitation another thought. I would have walked away. I guess it's my fault too for not ordering more quickly. But, I can't help it that I am a damn perfectionist and I wanted to make sure that before I bought something, that I was going to get exactly what I wanted.

And because I am so pissed about this whole incident and how everything went down, I have decided that if I ever see her name pop up on something that I am looking at buying that I will not even give it another look. It is not worth it to go through something like this again.

So here I am now without an invitation and already way behind schedule on getting them out. So my "you better figure something out" mode kicked in yesterday and I proceeded to buy three different digital scrapbooking kits matching the theme we are doing, and my friend Nicole and I are going to attempt to make these invitations ourselves. Hopefully we can handle this and make something adorable, but if I happen to be ripping my hair out and screaming by the end of the week, you know why. Man, if I didn't love my best friend so much, I wouldn't even deal with this, but alas, she is amazing and deserves the very best, so I will just have to suck it up and move on. Love you Lou Lou!

Have you guys ever had a bad experience on Etsy like this? Or on any other websites?

Weekend Recap

Good morning everyone! I hope you had a great weekend! Here is what we did.

Friday night was date night. We started out by going to our favorite Chinese place for dinner. It was delicious, as always. Then we followed up dinner with a trip to the Penny Arcade. The Penny Arcade is this awesome place with all kinds of old games like Skeeball, every different kind of pin ball machine, horse races and a whole lot more.

We started out by playing Skeeball, which is our favorite. We always turn it into a competition to see who can score the most points. I won all but one round I think. What can I say, I am a Skeeball master!

After Skeeball it was on to one of our other favorite games. It's this Dinosaur game where you shoot balls into tubes to get the amount of tickets that the tube says. Aran hit the jackpot and we got 500 tickets within the first few balls of play. We also played the clown shooting game, the horse races and really cool 21 game.

After we were done playing games(more like we ran out of quarters) we cashed our tickets in. Usually we walk away with something kind of cheesy and plastic, but this time we got something kind of useful. I got a bamboo plant for my office. We paid 900 tickets for it. I also got some smarties and blue raspberry tootsie roll(random!). We ended the night by enjoying some delicious strawberry cheesecake ice cream.

Saturday was pretty relaxed. We slept in which was great. Then I headed down to see my Nieces lemonade stand. It was adorable. So of course I bought some cookies and lemonade and gave them a pretty decent tip. How could I not? They were just too cute! After visiting the lemonade stand, I went inside and hung out with my Sister-In-Law and my youngest Niece for a few hours then headed out to do some errands.

After my errands I went home and just relaxed the rest of the night and watched the Rapids game. Sunday was pretty much the same. I sat around for most of the day until I headed to the grocery store and then came home to make dinner and fold some laundry. Pretty lazy and kind of a productive day.

Things are going to be pretty crazy around here this week. With all the stuff I have going on at work and leaving on Wednesday for a mini vacay, things are going to be nuts. I am going to try my hardest to get some posts done and scheduled for you guys this week. But if I don't get a chance and you guys don't hear from me for a while, ya know why.

Hope you guys had a great weekend!

An Update

Hey everyone! Due to everything that is going on here, I am going to skip our Bringing Sexy Back link up this week and next week as well(I will be out of town), but no worries because I will be back in two weeks to let you guys know how I am doing with everything. I hope you guys will join us again in a few weeks and let us know how you guys are doing.

First off, I just wanted to say thank you to all of you that have been sending your thoughts and prayers this way. We greatly appreciate all of them. As of this morning, the fire seems to be moving away from where I live, which is a great thing for me, but still very unfortunate for the others in those areas.

As of 12 pm yesterday, they have confirmed that 92 people have lost their homes. I can't even imagine what they are dealing with right now. And I hope that I never have to know what they are dealing with.

Since I posted this at 9 am this morning, they have since confirmed that 360 homes have been completely destroyed, 14 have been partially damaged, 75 have been unidentified and 1,205 have been unharmed.

In regards to the other fire that is burning south of us, they are saying that the Historical bridge is still in tact! It has some damage, but nothing that can't be fixed. Unfortunately they did lose some structures in the park though. One of the ones that was destroyed was the building that housed the Tram that would take you across the gorge. They said the building itself and the Tram inside were destroyed and the cable snapped and fell into the gorge. This is really sad.

*Images found via Google Search*

Hopefully today they can continue to make progress on these fires and start getting them contained. But with the wind and the high temps, it isn't looking good. So please keep those prayers and thoughts coming our way.

Thanks everyone and I hope you guys have a great Thursday.

Pray for Colorado!

Remember last summer when my beautiful state of Colorado was ravaged by wildfires? Specifically the Waldo Canyon Fire? I do! It was awful! I couldn't believe what my town was going through and I felt so badly for those that lost their homes and belongings in that fire. It was one of the worst things this town has ever experienced and one of the worst things I have ever experienced in my 25 years of living in this town.

Well once again this summer, we are having to deal with the wildfires. Currently we have at least five wildfires burning and all but one of them started yesterday. It has been so hot and dry here and we are already in a drought and all these conditions are just making it not look like a good summer for us.

One of the fires is about 10 miles Northeast of my house. It's awful. They are estimating (as of 10 pm last night) that 40-60 structures have already been lost. And who knows how many animals are out there that couldn't escape. It's just heart breaking. And to see the smoke plume just getting bigger and bigger, it just makes my stomach hurt.

How awful would it be to see this on the news and have to say "That's my house!"
Top Left: Taken at work at about 5 pm yesterday
Top Right: Taken a few blocks away from the my house around 8 pm yesterday
Bottom Left: Taken from my driveway at around 6 pm yesterday
Bottom Right: Taken from my driveway at around 8 pm yesterday
And I personally know three guys that are fire fighters that are out there putting their lives on the line to keep this thing from spreading even more than it has. And I am worried sick. I just keep hoping that I hear from one of them soon or that they put a status up on Facebook or something to let us know that they are okay. It's nerve wracking enough knowing that this thing is spreading and that people are losing their homes. But to know people that are putting themselves out there to try and save other people's lives and homes, it is really hard not to get worried about them.

One of my friends who is out there fighting the fire. He saved this fawn! And as of 12 midnight, he had posted on Facebook that he was okay and would be going back out this morning! Whew!
Another one of the fires is way South of us, but it is threatening a historical site called the Royal Gorge Bridge. This bridge is a big tourist place, but it is part of our State and our history and to see that it is being threatened by the fire and could potentially be gone by morning, it's heart breaking. We used to go there all the time when I was younger and to think that it could be gone in the blink of the eye is just the worst.

What's even harder right now is sitting back and listening to people around the country complaining about how they are getting nothing but rain and they are tired of it. And I get it. When you have had so much of one particular type of weather, it does get irritating. But, I would much rather have your rain right now than to see my state burning down.

My state needs your thoughts and prayers more than ever right now. And so do all those individuals that have lost their homes or pets and all those that are out trying to stop these horrible fires. So please send your thoughts and prayers to Colorado. And Mother Nature, we would appreciate some cooler weather and some precipitation. Thanks in advance everyone.

Random Ramblings

Hey guys! Sorry for not getting a weekend recap up. Work was cray cray yesterday and is going to continue to be over the next week and half while we prepare for two different 401K audits! Oh the joy of being in Accounting!

But I wanted to pop in and say hi real quick and just give you a few random things that have been on my mind or that I have been excited about lately.

First up, Country Jam! I am beyond excited about Country Jam next week! Like I can't sit still, can't focus on anything else kind of excited! I can't wait to get out of the office for a few days and just have a good time with my friend and see some amazing artists!

It is too damn hot! I left my office at 9:15 this morning for a meeting and it was already 84 freaking degrees outside! Yikes! And combine that with the very little precipitation that we have been receiving, we are in for a long dry summer with the potential for some more really bad fires. I really hope this doesn't happen, but unfortunately it probably will.

And probably the thing that I have been most excited about in the past two days is the news of my favorite player getting picked up. Mr. Tim Tebow is now officially a member of the Patriots! And you should have seen how giddy I was at my desk yesterday when this was announced. I couldn't sit still the rest of the day :)

Not only do I find Tim Tebow to be absolutely gorgeous, he is just a great guy all around. It's not very often that you find a pro athlete that isn't afraid to wear his faith and his heart on his sleeve. And I admire that. I also admire everything that he does off the field for children. His foundation alone does so much to help kids have a brighter future and it just makes my heart melt. It is just so great to see a pro athlete that is actually trying to be such a positive role model for kids.

And I know that there are other pro athletes out there that are actively trying to do the same thing, but unfortunately with the world we live in, all we hear about are the ones that are getting arrested for various things. Which is really sad.

Now I know not everyone likes the guy. And  yes, he does have some areas of improvement that he needs to work on, but who doesn't! No one is perfect, but that doesn't mean that he isn't working hard to try and fix these things. And I think he couldn't have found a better team to help him work on these things. I mean as much as I am not a fan of Tom Brady(even though he is a Michigan man, Go Blue!), I still have to give the guy some credit. He is an amazing QB, but it's hard to like other QB's when you are a Broncos fan, haha! But why not learn from one of the best QB's in the freaking NFL?!

And I just want to put this out there now. Me posting about Tim Tebow is in no way an invitation for people to be negative on this blog. And I will say this now that if you are negative in any way, I will delete your comment. I am not about negativity and cutting people down, so take it elsewhere!

Sorry for getting kinda touchy in that last paragraph, but I am just so sick of the negativity. I don't even want to hear it anymore.

Okay guys, that's all I have for you. I am going to continue to be giddy at my desk for the rest of the day. Hope you guys all have a fantabulous day!

Friday's Letters

Is it just me or did Friday take it's sweet time getting here this week? It probably didn't help that my last two work weeks were super short. Meh! Anywho, it's time for some letters!

Dear Hot Oral Surgeon,
Seriously! Why do you have to be so freaking hot? Now it is going to make getting this stupid procedure done that much harder because I am going to have this gorgeous guy staring down my mouth. Awesome!

Dear Stupid Teeth,
I understand that you have some issues, but you need to chill out with this crap. I can't afford how expensive some of this crap is to get you fixed. So knock it off, k?

Dear Garage Sales,
Please be awesome this weekend! And please have everything that I am looking for!

Dear Job,
You can chill out now too! This past week has been nuts and I would appreciate a small break in all the craziness! Thanks!

Dear Miss Kelsi,
Sorry you crashed on your bike yesterday. I am sure you are probably okay at this point because you are a tough little girl, but hopefully us taking you shopping for your Birthday will make you feel even better!

Ouch! Poor baby!
Dear Budget,
I promise, we are trying to stick to you. We are doing pretty good, but I think we can do a lot better! I know that we have only been doing this for a month or so now, but I think once we actually start paying stuff off it will feel worth it.

Dear Country Jam,
You are less than two weeks away! Eeeeekkkkk!!!!!! Get here quickly please!

Dear Beckett,
Please feel better soon! I need you to not be sick anymore. I don't like it when my fur babies don't feel good. I feel so helpless. So get better kitty!

Okay, that's all I have for today guys. Don't forget to link up your Friday's Letters with Ashley. Have a great weekend!

Bringing Sexy Back Week 10/11

Good morning lovelies! It's Thursday and time for another edition of Bringing Sexy Back! We took a break last week, but we are back this week and ready to report how we brought sexy back this week! So grab a button, link up and tell us how you did.

Grab button for Bringing Sexy Back!

Not going to lie, two weeks ago, I definitely fell off the band wagon. It was bad. And I was mad at myself. Which was a good thing. I was kicking myself for losing progress and I made myself get back into the swing of things.

And I am glad that I did, because I have been back on track the last two weeks and I am happy to report that I have made some more progress. So let's get to that, shall we?

I haven't taken official measurements since Week 8, so I thought it was time to. And I am glad that I did. I have lost more inches and more lbs! As of this morning I am down 19.4 lbs! I am sooooooooo close to hitting that 20 lb mark!!! Aaaaaggghhhhh! I am hoping to get there by next week.

Unfortunately I don't think that I am going to make my goal of being 200 lbs by the time I go to Country Jam. I leave for Country Jam in 2 weeks and I would still need to lose another 13 lbs! Don't get me wrong, I am going to try, but I am not going to be disappointed if I don't make it, because I know that is asking a lot of my body and myself.

Let's move on to some goals for the next week. Of course keep up with tracking my food on myfitnesspal(going on over 50 days of tracking!!) and keep up with drinking lots of water! It is starting to get super hot here, so that is very important, especially so I can stay hydrated! I want to try and hit my 10,000 steps a day goal, which means I need to get off my ass more during the day and away from my desk for some walks. It's nice enough that I can start walking or something at lunch now. And last but not least I want to start walking the stairs at work again. I used to do this all the time. I would do the stairs before and after every trip to the bathroom, but I didn't keep up with it, so I am going to try and start doing this again.

Okay lovelies! That's all I have for this week! Make sure to link up and tell us how you did! I love reading everyone's post and supporting you in anyway possible! Have a great day!

I hope this brings you as much laughter and joy as it has brought to my life! Enjoy!

Miranda Lambert? Yes please!

Back in like January, a very good friend of mine bought us our tickets to this years Country Jam held in  Colorado. At the time, they had a lot of the artist already lined up and we were excited to see a bunch of them. Like Rascal Flatts, Florida Georgia Line, Lee Brice and The Pistol Annies.

Well Country Jam isn't until mid June so since we bought our tickets a bunch of the acts have had to cancel for various reasons. Which sucks, but at the same time, something awesome happened when one of them cancelled.

Almost a week ago Country Jam announced that The Pistol Annies had to cancel their show. I was bummed because I wanted to see them, even though I would rather see Miranda herself, I still wanted to see them. And then the most amazing announcement ever happened. They announced that since The Pistol Annies cancelled, Miranda Lambert was going to be honoring the commitment herself!!!!!!!!!!! Aaaaaaaaagggggggghhhhhhhhhhhh!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

That's right, this girl will soon get to check off one more artist on my list of people that I want to see. And this seriously worked out so perfectly because Miranda was in Denver in May and I was bummed that I didn't get to see her, but as luck would have it, I do get to see her!!!!!!

Now I just need these next couple of weeks to hurry up and fly by so that I can go to Country Jam and have a blast with my friend Nicole. Two weeks from tomorrow I will be making my way down for the shows, but who's counting?!

Have a great day everyone!

Weekend Recap

Good morning lovelies! I hope everyone had a great weekend. Mine once again was super busy.

My weekend started on Friday. The Hubby and I took the day off to host our very first garage sale. Our community has a weekend every year where tons of families participate, so we decided to partake. We didn't realize how much crap we had to get rid of until we started going through all of it.

So Friday morning we got everything set up and hoped for the best. I actually decided to head out to some of the other garage sales while the Hubby watched ours. Good thing I did because I found this beautiful dresser!!!! I talked the guy down to $130 and I am so freaking in love with this dresser it is ridiculous!

Around 2 we packed the garage sale up for the day. Shortly after that, I got ready for my Zumba party. The theme this time was Hawaiian Luau, so of course I had to go all out.

Doing my best impression of the Jolie leg

Saturday morning we got up bright and early again to have our garage sale again. It went pretty well. We got rid of a bunch of crap and made a little over $200, so I would say it was worth it.

After the garage sale we headed over to my Brother's house to spend some time with my Niece since it was her 5th Birthday! Where has the time gone?! I can't believe she is 5!

Saturday was also my Mom's Birthday! Happy Birthday Mom! I love you!!! Thanks for being such an amazing person to look up to!

After we left my Brothers we went to Lowe's to get some stuff to plant some flowers and then headed home to have dinner and watch the Rapids game.

Sunday was pretty nuts too. I got up and started cleaning and then headed to the grocery store. Then I came home to get ready for our impromptu BBQ that my family and a few friends came over for. We had tons of delicious food! And we had a great time with our family and friends.

It was a pretty great weekend! But of course now I am back at work for a full week. This is going to be rough, haha! I hope you guys all had a great weekend!

And one last thing, I want to say Happy Anniversary to my Brother and my Sister-In-Law! Happy 5 years guys!!! I love you both and I am sure you will share many more! And thanks for giving me such adorable Nieces!
