Dresses That I Love

I wanted to share a few pictures with you guys of some of the dresses that I just absolutely love and hopefully will be able to find at some point. All of the pictures are courtesy of http://www.morilee.com/

If you haven't already noticed, I like big dresses! Haha! But I want something as simple and as poofy as these. If you know of anywhere that carries dresses that are similar to these, please let me know!

I Think Someone Is Trying To Tell Me Something

As most of you know, I have been super stressed about my wedding and my wedding dress and many other things. And my mom and my family keep telling me not to stress out about it and to not worry because everything will work itself out. Well, I think someone else was trying to tell me the same thing yesterday. As some of you may know I am currently going through the process to become Catholic. Well yesterday during our session, we were reading some of the scripture from mass and the meaning of the message hit me so hard that I even cried about it last night. Which, if you know me, doesn't take a lot sometimes,  haha! The message was about not worrying about trivial things because God will provide and everything will work out in the way that it is supposed to. As I sat there listening to the scripture, I just kept thinking to myself, wow! God, are you trying to tell me something right now? It is so crazy how this came at the right time for me. It was just what I needed to be able to relax and take a deep breath and reassure myself that everything will be okay. And this week, I have decided to try and not worry about things as much and just see how things play out. Who knows, something miraculuos might happen. Also, I want to say thank you to those who commented on my stressful situation with the dress shopping. It was really nice to see that I am not the only one who has struggled with this. It was very much needed and you guys had some great advice, so thank you again!

Me and Lou in Alaska for our other
besties wedding!
On to some exciting news. My best friend Lou will be here this weekend! I'm so excited to see her! I haven't seen her since November and it is driving me insane. Finding some of your best friends in college is so hard because then you all move so far away from eachother.  :( But, she will be here this weekend and I can't wait! Knowing us, we will have nonstop random craziness and fun! Does anyone else have anything fun planned this week or this upcoming weekend? I know, it is only Monday and most people don't plan that far ahead (only the crazies, like me, haha!). Well, I hope that everyone's Monday isn't too horrible and hopefully you are enjoying some really nice weather like what we have here!

Wedding Dress Blues

Wow!!! That is the only thing that can sum up my day. I need to rant about everything that happened today and this is the best way that I know how. Well, as most of you know, I went wedding dress shopping for the first time today. I think my biggest mistake was starting at the place that I did. I went to David's Bridal. It started out just fine, but then took a turn for the worst really quick. I took three people with me who I know  wouldn't lie to me. My sister-in-law Cassie and two of my childhood friends, Amber and Victoria. It started out with the consultant asking me what I wanted for a dress. Well obviously she didn't listen to a word that I said because every dress that she showed me was NOT EVEN close to anything that I said. So my friend Amber started looking for me and found something more along the lines of what I was looking for, but apparently this pissed the consultant off and everything went downhill from there.

She was so rude the rest of the day. I mean extremely rude. At one point she said, "I hope this doesn't offend you, but next time you come in I wouldn't bring so many people." REALLY? I had three people, granted my nieces were there but they weren't like running around all over the place like little hooligans. They were sitting down coloring and when I would come out of the dressing room they would stand up and look at the dress, but they were not in any way being crazy. I was so mad after the comment that she made that I didn't even want to look at another dress. The worst part about the whole day is that every dress that I have seen on their website that I wanted to try on, they didn't have in a size that I would fit into.

I am a size 18. I am not that big and the fact that they didn't even have a big enough selection of dresses in that size is discouraging. Every dress that I went in there to try on, they didn't have in my size. They only came in an 8 or 10, which I understand is pretty average, but I feel like they are so insensitive to girls who aren't the average size. I mean when you go in they have hundreds of dresses and then they take your size and then say oh okay well here are the dresses that will fit you and there are maybe 30. I guess I just don't get why for some of the more popular dresses they can't carry the average size and a bigger size, so that girls like me can actually try on something that they love. I know, I am ranting. I'm sorry, but I am just so frustrated and the consultant didn't help at all. Has anybody else had problems with this? What did you do to find a dress that you loved that you could actually try on? If anyone has any advice on what I should do, please share. I am desperate at this point for some info. Well, thanks for listening to my rant. Hopefully the next outing will have a better result!

Fill In The Blank Friday

1.   I am currently obsessed with  finding the perfect wedding dress right now. It is a big deal to me and I am starting to get freaked out that I won't find a dress that I absolutely love at the right price.

2.  Today I am  bored  because,  I don't really have much to do at work today. So I will be sitting in front of my computer “trying to look busy”, but will really be bored out of my mind.

3.  The age I am is  23  and the age I feel is  really depends on my mood. Some days I feel very old, other days I feel about my age and then other days I feel like I am in High School again. It really depends on the day and the events that are taking place.

4.  My favorite place is
my couch. I love curling up on it and just relaxing. I am definitely a couch potatoe. I wish I was there right now considering that it is cold outside and I would love to be curled up and watching movies. Oh and the Penny Arcade in Manitou!

5.  Something I have been procrastinating is   doing the dishes. I have been really bad about it lately. Some of the dishes are pots and pans from LAST week! Oops! Guess I should probably do something about that.

6.  The last thing I purchased was  Chick-Fil-A for lunch yesterday. Haha!

7.  The thing I love most about my home is  the person that lives with me and our cats. I love coming home to a place where just the two of us can relax.

More Fun Facts About Me

So I have decided that I wanted to let you guys know a little bit more about me. So I am going to do this the only way that I know how. Randomly and crazily!! Here goes!!

  • I would have never thought that I would find two friends who were as much like me that it kills me not be around them now. Not seeing them has been so hard especially since we used to spend every day together. And when I say every day, I mean EVERY day. You two know who you are!! Haha!
  • I love to bake but recently haven't been doing it as much because I am trying to watch what I eat. And if baked goods are in the apartment, I WILL eat them.
  • I can't wait to have more people in my family. I get to add a whole bunch of people to my already crazy family, but I wouldn't have it any other way.
  • I hate broccoli! Yuck!
  • American Idol is one of my all time FAVORITE shows. I get so involved that I have cried when people who shouldn't have been kicked off were or when the person that I want to win does win. I know, I know, I am a loser! Haha!
  • I miss swimming with my besties! Even though I hated getting up that early, I do miss it!
  • I love when Aran plays the guitar, even though he doesn't play as often as he used too. I'm going to have to talk to him about that.
  • I love cheerleading and I miss it so much. I am hoping to be able to find a cheerleading coaching job.
  • I am a Twilight nerd. The books were amazing and I have loved the movies too!
  • I used to hate Valentine's Day, but it is getting better as I get older.
  • I hate feeling left behind. It is actually one of my biggest fears.
  • I love Girl Scout cookies! Thin Mints are the BEST!!!
  • And last but not least, I miss being a kid! Being a grown up is so hard sometimes and really just not fair! Haha!
Well, I hope that you guys enjoyed some of these random facts about me and I hope that everyone has a wonderful weekend. As for me, I will be all over the place as usual, but it should be a good weekend. I finally get to try on some wedding dresses on Saturday! Yay! I will let you know if I have any good prospects.

My First Award

I was given my first award today. Thank you Lou from Guinn and Bare It for giving me the Stylish Blogger Award! Woohoo! I am new to this whole award thing, but I do know that I have to post seven things about myself. Well, here goes:

  • I have the two cutest, most amazing nieces in the world.

  • I have recently switched to eating ground turkey instead of beef so that I am eating healthier.
Well, now that you know a little bit more about me, it is time for me to have to now turn around and give this award to others. Well, I don't know that many blogs so I hope that I am not doubling anyone up here!

The New Baby Is Here!!

I am very excited and happy to announce that my future sister-in-law had her baby boy yesterday! He weighed 9 lbs and 9 oz. He is a very big boy. We are all very excited that he is finally here! I think his big brother is more excited than anyone though. Haha! Aran and I actually didn't find out until like two hours after he was born because we were asleep. Haha! We had the day off so we slept in and when I woke up at 8:30ish I had a couple of text messages with pictures. He is adorable! Unfortunately his sister lives in North Carolina so we won't get to see them until July. :( I hope that July comes quickly because we can't wait to meet the new addition to the family and to see the rest of Aran's family. Well, I thought I would share our excitement. Hope everyone is having a great day!

Less Than Jake

As a Valentine's Day gift for the soon-to-be hubby, I bought us tickets to go see one of his favorite bands, Less Than Jake. If you haven't heard of them, they are a Ska band from Gainesville, FL. They are such a killer band to go see live. They constantly keep you entertained. Anyways, we went and saw them last night. It was a blast. There were so many things going on while we were there though that it was ridiculous. There was a couple in the back fighting at one point. The band even singled them out and made them come on stage. The girl of course wouldn't but the guy was all for it and even did a shot onstage with the band. I think his girlfriend was pissed!!! Haha! At one point we saw a guy come out of the pit that was bleeding from above his eye. It was pretty gross! Oh, and there was this high school couple there who had a fake baby, like the ones that they give you in homec. Aran and I thought it was real at first because you really couldn't tell unless you were standing like two feet away. I was ready to call social services on these two before I knew it was fake. Haha! But they were carrying this fake baby around in a chest carrier and they even took the fake baby into the pit. Once they were done in the pit, they were trying to listen to it and they were saying "Is it crying?" Ummm, yeah! I'm sure it was! It would be interesting to see the readouts for that baby for that night. Haha! I'm sure that they majorly failed that assignment.

We had such an awesome time last night that I thought I would share with you guys. Something interesting about Aran and I is that we love concerts. We have been to so many together. This one was definitely up there on my list of faves, but I think my all time favorite would have to be the No Doubt and Paramore concert, with The Offspring and Paramore concert coming in at a close second. We both love music and really enjoy seeing some of our favorites live. Well, I should probably get back to work. Haha! Thanks for letting me share my night out story with you.

Puppies, A Soon To Be Nephew, & A Dress

It has been a few days since I have posted so I figured since I am bored at work, why not? I got some exciting news yesterday. My brothers dog had puppies!!! There are 12 of them and they are the cutest things and I know this because I just HAD to go see them! They look like little cows right now because of there markings and they are black and white. I wish I could have one but I don't think that my cats would appreciate it. Haha! And not only that but they are going to be big dogs and my apartment only allows us to have dogs that are under 25 lbs. These dogs are probably going to be like 3x's that size. Haha!

In other news, my fiancee's sister is pregnant, and today is her due date so we are anxiously awaiting the arrival of a new baby. The suspense is killing me. I am not a very patient person when it comes to these sort of things, and I can't even imagine how Aran's sister is feeling right about now. This baby is being super stubborn. Just come out already! We all would really like to see you!! Too bad his sister is in North Carolina and we probably won't see them until July. :(  But bottom line, that baby needs to hurry up!

Other than puppies being born and a soon to be nephew on the way, everything has been pretty normal lately. Valentine's Day was good. Aran and I just stayed home and watched T.V. I made stuffed peppers for dinner. Yummy! I used red peppers instead of green so that it was all cutesy for Valentine's Day. Aran got me a really cool gift. Instead of flowers he bought me one of those Edible Arrangements. I love fruit so it was perfect! It had strawberries, grapes, and pineapples! Yum, yum and an even bigger yum! The pineapples were the best part! They were heart shaped. It was super cute. Thank you honey!

Now that we are getting closer to March, I am getting more and more excited because that means a couple of things. First, it is getting closer to when my bestie will be moving up here! Yay! Can't wait to see her! And second, we are getting closer and closer to my appointment to go try on wedding dresses! Yay! This is the one thing that I have always looked forward too, even when I was little. I mean every girl dreams about this day and the dress that she is going to wear, so of course I am excited to finally go and try on dresses. I just worry that I won't find anything that I like that is reasonably priced. I probably worry too much about things, but I don't have a lot of money to spend on a dress so I don't want to feel like I have to settle because of that. So fingers crossed that I will find something that I absolutely LOVE at a decent price. Well, wish me luck!

Soon to be Hubby's Birthday Cake

I said that I would put pictures up of the Birthday cake I was making after the Birthday boys had seen it. My sister-in-law and I made this cake for my fiancee and for my fiancee's best friend Bret, because there Birthdays are a day apart. They loved it! Yay! It turned out really well. Thank you to my sister-in-law Cassie for helping me. There is no way I could have done this without her. She is awesome! Enjoy the pictures!

Cats That Act Like Dogs

Sheldon when he was about two and half months old
If you have read my "About Me" page, then you know that my fiancee and I have two cats, Sheldon and Beckett, who are both boys if you were wondering. I swear they are not normal cats. I have owned cats since I can remember and I don't ever remember any of them acting the way that these two do. Some days I think they act more like dogs than they do cats. Now don't get me wrong, I love my kitties, but this morning I was so angry at one of them. At some point in the night, I had kicked the cats out of our room so that they would quit bothering me so that I could sleep. So, what did they decide to do? Well, I can only assume that it was Beckett who jumped up on the shelf where I keep my purse, and decided to pull my BRAND NEW gloves out of my purse. I just bought these gloves and they were the really cute kind that had no finger tips and then have the little mit part that pulls over.
But anyways, I came out of my room this morning to find that Beckett had chewed a hole in my new gloves. Right on the thumb! I have never had a cat that has chewed. This isn't the first time that one of them has gotten into my purse either. A few weeks ago I came out and found that they had pulled these two bags of Dove chocolates out of my purse and actually ate one of them.

Beckett when he was about two months old
We can't keep any food on the counters, even if it is in a bag like bread or chips, because they get up there and eat that too. And I know that cats are naturally curious, but they are super curious about everything. They have learned how to open the door to our washer and dryer. They have learned how to open all of the bottom cabinets in the kitchen and tend to make a mess doing it. Like last weekend for example. I left the house pretty early to meet my sister-in-law to do some shopping. Well Aran was home, but he was sleeping so he didn't hear anything that was going on. The cats decided to open the cabinet underneath the sink and pulled out a bag of orchid potting mix. Not only did they drag the bag out of the cabinet, but somehow managed to open it and then drag it across our living room carpet! Aran later woke up to find the mess and as he described it to me over the phone, all I could think was that our carpet was probably stained, but luckily the potting mix was just a blend of wood chips and a few other things and came right up. Phew!

Like I said, I don't think my cats are normal. Here are some more things that have me questioning if they were actually supposed to be dogs. We have taught them how to sit using treats. They like to play in the water while we are taking showers, which Aran and I have always found strange. Our older cat (by 3 weeks) Sheldon, plays fetch. We didn't even teach him that one, he figured it out on his own. I'm sure there are other things, but I can't seem to think of them right now. Even though they drive me crazy some days because they get into so much stuff, I love them and I can't imagine not having them. They are so freaking cute that it is impossible to be mad at them for a long period of time. But, I thought I would share a little bit about my crazy kitties and some of their ridiculous antics. Enjoy the picture below of them at Christmas time!

They thought it was their own personal play toy.

What A Day!

Well, I had my dentist appointment this morning. It went good and bad I guess. Good news is that I only have one cavity! Yay! Bad news is that my wisdom teeth are coming in and I will probably have to have them pulled. Also, I had some work done when I was in high school and they had to put caps on my teeth. Well, the guy that did the work apparently didn't know what he was doing and put the caps on incorrectly causing the tooth to decay underneath of it, so I have to have those replaced too. Boo! My day seemed to be going okay after that, except for my gums and my teeth hurting a little and then....I went to lunch.

I had lunch with one of my best friends Amber and her little girl Madyson. We had a good time and it was nice seeing and catching up with her and of course seeing Mady, is always fun. Well, then I left to go back to work and I got in my car and it wouldn't start! My battery was dead for whatever reason I don't know. I was stuck in the Chick-Fil-A parking lot. Fun fact for those who dont' know me, I never get tired of Chick-Fil-A, but anyways, back to the story. So I called the fiancee who was at work but without a vehicle because I drove both of us to work today. I was beginning to think that I wasn't going to get back to work. But it just so happens that a guy from my work was at Chick-Fil-A and had jumper cables and was able to help me. Thank goodness! One of my biggest pet peeves is my car. Haha! It is an older car so it tends to have its problems and when something happens that is out of my control with it, it infuriates me so as you might be able to tell, I was very mad with the situation. I did eventually get back to work, but I was late, which is another huge pet peeve of mine, but atleast I got my car started.

In other things going on today, my sister-in-law Cassie and I are making Aran's Birthday cake today. I hope that it turns out well. Please, cake gods, let it turn out well! I will post pictures probably this weekend of the end product. Fingers crossed everyone! Hope everyone else's day is better than mine started out!

My Teeth Hurt!

I think my wisdom teeth are coming in. My teeth have been hurting a lot lately and now I have these little bumps on the top of my gums. Does anyone else remember what it felt like when they got theirs in? I hate going to the dentist, but I made an appointment anyways and will be going in. Hopefully they can let me know what is going on. Well, I am going to keep this short today because my teeth hurt really bad and I am fighting a bad cold. Hope everyone is staying warm out there and hopefully you are all not fighting this stupid sickness that is going around. Oh and be sure too look for my guest blog on Guinn and Bare It tomorrow.

Shopping and Snow!

Something exciting happened today! It snowed! Yay! And it actually snowed quite a bit for a change. I guess all that praying that I have been doing to the snow gods is working. Haha! Today I also went cake shopping with my sister-in-law Cassie and my nieces. We went shopping for stuff for my fiancĂ©es birthday cake. Keeping my nieces away from all of the breakable stuff in the stores was a task in itself.  I would tell you what the cake is going to look like, but it is a surprise and in the off chance that he may read this, I better not say what it is. But we had a fun day, even though I haven't been feeling good. This weather is messing with my sinus'. But we went to Michael's and bought a few things and then we went to this place called Kandy Kastle. They have the coolest stuff in that store. I will definitely be going back. We will be making the cake this week so when it is done and I have shown Aran, I will post some pics so that you guys can see it. Hopefully it turns out as well as we are wanting it to, but who knows because I am not a professional and it may look awful. We had fun shopping for everything though . After we did all of our shopping we took my nieces to McDonald's for lunch and so that they could play in the Play Place. It was really fun watching the girls run around and play with the other kids. It was a good day with my family. Now if I could just get rid of this crappy cold that I have now, life would be perfect! Haha! Keep an eye out for cake pictures within the next week!

Brrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Brrrrrr!!!!!! That is what has been on my mind the past two days. It has been so cold here the past two days. I mean below zero cold. Yesterday I believe it was -8 out but with the windchill it was like -31!!! Let me repeat that, -31!! Can you believe that? I think it was warmer in Alaska yesterday than it was here. Today isn't as bad. There isn't as much wind so it was only -7 I think. Haha! My car barely started yesterday and today because of how cold it was. And apparently my work doesn't believe in heaters, so our entire staff had to freeze our butts off yesterday and today. I didn't take my coat off all day yesterday and I know that I wasn't the only one who stayed bundled up. I just wish that we would get some massive amounts of snow with some of this cold weather, but no such luck on that one. Fingers crossed for tomorrow though, apparently we are supposed to get some more snow. Yay!

Nicole, Alex, Lacey, and Me playing in the snow on our day off-
Sophomore Year ~ January 2008
I never thought that I would love snow after four years at college. The college that I went to was in a mountain town and the first year that I was there we didn't really get that much snow. However my second, third and fourth year are a different story.
My sophomore year we got so much snow that you couldn't even get your car out of the parking lots at the on campus apartments. It was crazy. I think it snowed like three feet within a day. Needless to say, they cancelled classes for a few days, which was okay by me. My friends and I went sledding for a few hours and then spent the remainder of the days digging out cars in the parking lots so that we could move them to a different lot that had already been plowed and so that eventually they could plow our lot.

Yes, there is a car under there!
Sophomore Year ~ January 2008
It took us hours to dig out all of our cars. We were out there
shoveling and pushing cars for hours. But we had a blast. Now my Junior year, we didn't get as much snow as the previous year, but we still got quite a bit. My senior year of college I think we got the most snow. We didn't have classes on Wednesday afternoon, and all day Thursday and Friday! It was awesome! My friend Lacey and I played in the snow quite a bit that year. We had bought snow pants and everything so that we wouldn't freeze our buts off. We built a snowman and we also had to dig our cars out again. They were burried and it took us a really long time  but we had a blast doing it!
The mountain of snow that had piled up from the plows
Sophomore Year ~ January 2008
Now, a lot of people may ask why I hated the snow when I was in college since the stories I just told were, well fun! Well the answer to that is that it always managed to snow on weekend when I was supposed to be going home to visit my family and my boyfriend or when they were supposed to be coming to see me. I mean it never failed. And with being in a mountain town, there were two good size mountain passes that I had to go over to get home and a lot of times they were closed, so you can see now why I hated it. I mean don't get me wrong, I was glad that classes were cancelled from time to time, but I didn't like it so much when it stood in the way of me seeing my family or my boyfriend. Haha! But needless to say, I do like the snow now that I don't have to travel in it and I have been praying that we would get a lot of it this year, but it isn't looking that way. Oh well! Maybe next year! Enjoy some more pictures below of my past snow days!
