Random Thoughts On Thursday

Happy almost Friday everyone!!! I have seriously been sitting here for 20 minutes trying to come up with a topic for a blog post today and it just isn't happening, so instead you get some very random thoughts for today.

First, I can not tell you guys how excited I am that the Colorado Rapids Season Opener is this Saturday!!! Eeekk!! I know haven't talked about Soccer much, but over the last year, I have really gotten into the Rapids and I love watching them play. And once you learn what is going on in the game, it is actually very entertaining.

My Gilmore Girls obsession has gone to a whole new level. I recently started re-watching the entire series and I am realizing that I have watched this show sooo many times that I am starting to remember lines in episodes. Whoa!! But, I love this show and it makes me laugh uncontrollably, so I will continue watching it for probably the rest of my life.

Whoa babies! I feel like over the past two weeks, the blogosphere has exploded with baby announcements. Don't get me wrong, I am very happy for those expecting, but it catches you off guard when you see like three a day! And I'm not going to lie, it also makes me slightly jealous because they get to do those cute bump update posts every week. I can't wait to be able to do that. But don't get any ideas family and friends, it isn't happening any time soon.

Things have FINALLY slowed down at work, which has been really nice. But I think all of these long stressful weeks are starting to catch up to me. I feel a sickness coming on and it feels like it is going to be a doozy!

I really need to take a weekend and just come in and re organize my entire office. I can't handle how unorganized it has become since I took over some of the HR duties. I am going crazy and if I don't do something about it soon, I am going to freak the eff out. And hey, it might give me another reason to buy more office supplies :)

And I am soooo sorry that I have not gotten my 100 followers giveaway up yet. I am seriously the worst. Every time I get a chance to start getting it all put together, some other thing comes up. I promise, it will be soon. And I am still looking for people who would like to help host. Contact me if you are interested!

Okay, those are all of my random thoughts for today. I hope you all have a fabulous day. And remember, tomorrow is Friday!! How can that not make you excited?

Placebo Effect

I am pretty sure almost everyone has heard of the Placebo Effect. And some people will say it works, some people will say it doesn't.

As of right now, I myself believe that it does work. Especially in the case of my dog, Louie.

I told you guys about how he kept getting sick. Well this last time around, I told the Hubby that I wanted to try something once we were done giving him his medicine. I wanted to keep giving him a very small piece of cheese at the same time everyday to see if it would create a placebo effect. Cheese is what we were told by the vet to put his medicine in. So we wanted to see if he associated the cheese with feeling better.

So every morning he runs down stairs because he knows that he gets a piece of cheese. And every night when we get home and let him out of his kennel, he runs down to the fridge, because once again, he knows that it is cheese time. And it has been over a week since we stopped giving him his antibiotics and he has yet to get sick again(knock on wood). Yay!!!! But now that I think of it, he may just have us trained, haha!

Now I don't know if it is the cheese or if the antibiotics finally did what they were supposed to (I'm going to say it's the cheese). It may even be a little bit of both. All I know is my pupper is feeling a million times better, and I am glad to have the little teddy bear full of energy again!!

That Time I Ran a Mile

For some of you this may not be a big deal. And you are probably going to look at me and go, wow! But, for someone who hates running this is a big deal for me.

Last night at the gym, I ran an entire mile. I didn't stop. Not once. And...I ran it in under 12 minutes. Whoop whoop!!! I know for some of you that probably isn't a big deal, but considering the last time I ran an entire mile without stopping was probably in High School, I was pretty damn proud of this!!!

And now I have a great starting point that I can keep trying to improve on. I hope one day to be able to run a mile in 10 minutes. I know I can do it. I just have a lot of work to do to get to that point. But I am glad that I have set a goal for myself.

And by the way, as of today I am down 7.8 lbs. And last week I took my measurements and I have lost inches everywhere already. I am excited that I am doing so well and I can't wait to keep pushing myself!

Weekend Recap

Hey guys! First off, I want to say hello to all of my lovely new followers!!!! Welcome and thanks for sticking around. Make sure to introduce yourself in the comment section so I can get to know ya a little. And I will try and check out all of your blogs over the next week. I am trying to get caught up on everyone's since things are finally starting to slow down at work. Yay!! Finally!!!

Okay, on to what we did this weekend. Friday night we did absolutely nothing. We made dinner and just relaxed and watched some tv.

Saturday we got up early and cleaned the house. Then we had an appointment with a company that was trying to sell us new windows. This appointment lasted almost two hours and at the end of that two hours, the guy had talked us into buying a new window and a sliding glass door. It sounded like a great thing at the time and the monthly payment was something that we could easily handle. So we said yes, and then after I really had time to think about all of it, I started freaking out and stressing out.

So, we decided to cancel our order. Thank the freaking lord. We are trying to pay off some of our debt so that we can buy a car, and we were seriously about to add more to it. Wow! We were not being very smart. I am glad that we came to our senses.

After that two hour long meeting, I headed into work for about four hours and then I headed home. We decided to go out and get some food for dinner and then do a little bit of shopping. We stopped at OfficeMax so that I could get some more organizational stuff for my office. Like I said, I am obsessed with office supplies.

After the office supplies, we headed to King Soopers to do some grocery shopping. We were supposed to be getting another 3-8 inches of snow the following day, so we figured we would get our shopping done early. And of course, we didn't get hardly any snow, so yeah.

Sunday I once again did absolutely nothing. I didn't change out of my pajamas. I just laid upstairs in our room watching countless hours of Gilmore Girls. I freaking love that show and I am currently in the process of re-watching the entire series. I just finished the fourth season yesterday. Only three more to go.

So yeah, that was our weekend. Pretty uneventful and almost ridiculously expensive. But it was a nice relaxing weekend. I hope you all had a great weekend.

And don't forget to introduce yourself in the comments section!!

Thanks K!

This post is dedicated to K from Down at Fraggle Rock. She apparently listened to me when I told her to send all of the crazy snow they were getting my way.

At around 9 pm last night, we already had five inches. That's right! We have snow and it's actually sticking to the ground. I don't remember the last time we had this much snow. And this morning when I woke up, we had about seven inches. Now I know it isn't the 20+ inches that K got, but it is more than we have had in a long time.

So now I have to sit here and wait to hear from work. I am praying to the weather gods that I don't have to go anywhere. I don't know that my car will make it through all of this and not only that, but it would probably take me at least an hour to get to work or longer.

And to add to that, almost every route to work was closed last night due to the icy and snow packed conditions, so I am not really sure that I would even be able to get there. Ugh! It is going to be a long morning of waiting.

Everybody send good thoughts this way so that I have a snow day!!!!

What Babies "R" Us Will Do To You

Last night the Hubby and I headed to Babies "R" Us to buy a gift for a friend of ours. I never realized what that place will do to you if you stay in their long enough.

We had just finished picking out the gift for our friend Amanda when we started just looking around. First we started looking at bedding sets. We kept picking out ones that we liked and thought we would pick if we had kids.

And then we looked at the furniture. We were talking about how we wanted a crib that has the changing table attached or one that will turn into a bed for when they get too big for the crib.

And then of course, I had to walk through all of the clothes and oh my freaking gosh, they are all so adorable.

It was around the time that I was done looking at the clothes that I realized a few things. First, I am probably going to be the most indecisive person ever when it comes to registering for baby stuff. There are so many things to choose from and everything is so cute. I think registering for a baby is going to be way more of a nightmare than registering for our wedding was.

The second thing I realized is that babies are damn expensive. Some of those cribs alone were like $700. Yikes!!! And not to mention all the other crap you need. Bottles, diapers, clothes, etc. Wow!! I am freaking out just thinking about it.

And the last thing I realized was that I needed to get out of there and STAT!! Being in there and seeing all of the cuteness was making me think that I wanted to have a kid like yesterday. As soon as I realized that I was acting like a crazy person, I told the Hubby that we needed to leave.

So just a forewarning, staying in Babies "R" Us for long periods of time will brainwash you  into thinking that you are ready to have kids. Or that you need a kid right away. Don't say I didn't warn you!

Weekend Recap

Hey guys! I hope that everyone had a great weekend. I technically have today off, but I decided to head into the office for a few hours to get some work done. Hopefully since nobody will be there, I will actually be able to get some work done. Hopefully!

Our weekend was pretty typical for us. Some lounging around, some working out, some cleaning, ya know. the usual.

Friday night I went to Zumba after work and then went to dinner with my friends Kristen and Matt. We went to Red Robin for dinner and then headed to Best Buy and Target just to hang out and look around.

Saturday, I did absolutely nothing. I didn't even get dressed. I went back and forth from the couch to my bed  switching back and forth between Catfish The TV Show and Gilmore Girls. I was so tired that I just didn't want to do a damn thing. I think all of these long stressful weeks are starting to catch up with me. It was a much needed day of doing absolutely nothing.

Sunday I woke up and went to Zumba. Then I did a little bit of grocery shopping and then headed home. After I had been home for about an hour, our friends Bret and Rochelle came over and then we headed out to do some shopping. We went to BBB and then grabbed some dinner from Qdoba. After dinner we went to TJ Max/Homegoods and then headed to Office Max.

I was in heaven at Office Max. I have a small obsession with office supplies. I found some new pens for work and a new drawer organizer. It was a pretty productive outing.

We came home after our outing and then just relaxed for the rest of the night. Like I said, it was a pretty typical weekend for us.

What did you guys do this weekend?

Friday's Letters

Hey guys. I am linking up with Ashley again for Friday's Letters.

Photobucket

Dear Readers,
Sorry I have been MIA for a few days this week. Work has been absolutely nuts, but I promise to try and post more next week. And I promise that I am going to try and get that 100 Follower Giveaway up soon.

Dear Hubby,
Thank you for buying me Peter Pan for Valentine's Day. I felt like a little kid again watching it with you last night. And holy crap, I didn't realize how much of a biatch Tinkerbell was in the movie until last night, haha!

Dear Snow,
I'm pretty sure you have missed us, please come back!!

Dear Starbucks,
You seriously need to let me know when you are going to quit carrying things. I didn't appreciate the fact that you didn't have the cups that I needed. Don't you realize that you should be catering to my every need?

Dear People at Work,
Be patient with me. I am trying to learn how to be an HR person on top of doing all of my work for the Accounting side. I will eventually get the hang of it. Until then, just hang in there with me.

Dear Work,
I don't appreciate that you have been so busy lately. I don't have time to do everything in the day so I find myself staying late and coming in early. I don't like the person that I am becoming due to your ridiculousness. So chill the eff out!

Dear Catfish the TV Show,
I am obsessed. Seriously! I am absolutely fascinated with this show. And it helps that Max and Nev are pretty nice to look at.

Okay, that's all I have for today. I have to get back to work. Have a great weekend everyone!

While The Humans Are Away, The Cats Will Play

And destroy things in the process.

Let me set the scene. I come home from work and walk in the door. When I walk in, I see that one of the dining room chairs has been knocked over.

I say something to the Husband along the lines of "What were they doing?", to which he replies, "You haven't seen the worst of it yet."

So I walk around the corner into the kitchen and this is what I see...

Ummmm..........Yeah!

Apparently my kitties decided that they just had to HAVE this toy that was up on the shelf. So somehow they got up there and knocked down everything humanly possible during the process. And of course we had some special/limited edition Dr. Pepper glass bottles up on the top shelf. So of course their was glass and soda all over the floors, the walls, you name it, it was there. I can't believe that out of all seven of them, only two broke. So I guess really it could have been much worse.

And of course, since this had happened earlier in the day, we didn't know which one of them did it, so we couldn't be mad at them. Actually we were left speechless and somewhat impressed at their determination to get that damn toy. But, I was not particularly happy that I had to clean that shiz up. It was sticky and there was glass everywhere.

So, the moral of the story is that you shouldn't leave fuzzy, dangly, jingly things on a shelf that has breakable stuff on it. Because some way or another, your kitties will climb that shelf like they were bitten by a radioactive spider and destroy anything that gets in their way. My kitchen is proof of that.

Weekend Recap

This weekend started for me on Friday. I took the day off to spend time with the Hubby since it was his Birthday. So Friday we did pretty much nothing. We sat around and watched TV. I gave the Hubby a hair cut so he could go get his new license and not be sporting a fro. I took a glorious nap while he was out doing that. And then after he got back, I got my butt out of bed and took a shower and got ready to go out for dinner.

Being the amazing Wife that I am, I told him he could pick where he wanted to go, and without hesitation he picked our favorite Sushi place.

The food was of course delicious and we had a great time celebrating his Birthday just the two of us. We also found a picture of Apollo Anton Ohno on the picture board at the sushi place. I thought that was pretty cool.

Saturday was a very very busy day. Louie unfortunately was not feeling very well again on Friday, so Saturday when we woke up and he wasn't better, we called the Vet and took him in again. Once again, they still can't figure out what is wrong with him. They don't believe that it is digestive anymore. They think it might be a pulled muscle or something that is causing him so much pain that he doesn't want to eat or drink.

They also did an electrolyte test while we were there and that came back fine too. So they sent us home with some Cortizone tablets and some more antibiotics. We are hoping that this time around everything does what it is supposed to, cause this is starting to get very expensive. Don't get me wrong, I love my dog and I will spend whatever I have to, but it's still expensive.

My poor sick puppy
After we left the Vet, we hauled ass up to Denver, because we were already running late for my hair appointment with my Aunt. So we got up there about a half hour late and she immediately started working on my hair. I was already bored with my color, so I decided to try something totally different. I wanted an ombre. So I found a picture that was pretty close to the colors that I wanted. The red in the picture though was a little too much for me so we decided on a different red. Something more subtle.

And of course, the picture on the bottom right of the above is how it turned out. I absolutely LOVE it! My Aunt did an amazing job!!! I think next time we might even go a little brighter on the red.

After my hair was did, we went to Church with Aran's parents and then went and grabbed some dinner at Jim N' Nicks!!! Then we headed home and vegged out on the couch.

Sunday I got up bright and early and headed to Zumba with one of my friends from work. After that I ran a bunch of errands and for some reason ran into someone I knew at almost every single place I went to. It was  fun though to see a bunch of my friends.

Sunday night I went out to dinner with my friend Megan. We went to Red Robin. For some reason the last couple of times that I have been to this particular location, the food hasn't been very good and that was true again for this visit. But, it was great getting to spend some time with Megan and catch up on everything.

After dinner, I went home and watched the Grammy's. First of all, helloooooooooo Justin Timberlake!!! He rocked my freaking socks off. I seriously felt like I was 12 again watching him perform. And I can NOT wait for his new album to come out! Second, Maroon 5, I freaking love you too. I don't think I have heard a song from them that I haven't liked.

Carrie Underwood, I couldn't stand your dress. At first I thought it just looked like a prom dress. And then when they started putting the graphics on it, it was so distracting. I didn't even pay attention to a word that you were singing. And Adele, you are adorable. And I need some new music from you. Like yesterday! Overall, the Grammy's weren't bad. They were definitely fun to watch.

And that, my lovely followers, was my weekend in a nutshell. Back to the grind today. Yuck! I hope you guys all have a great day.

Friday's Letters

Happy Friday everyone!!

Before I get to Friday's Letters, I want to say Happy Birthday to my amazing Husband! Today is his 26th Birthday. So we have both taken the day off and plan on doing absolutely nothing. I know, such party people, haha! I love you so much honey and I hope that you have a wonderful Birthday!

Photobucket

Dear Hubby,
Happy Birthday! I love you sooo much! And sorry that your gift won't be here on time. Better late than never, right?

Dear Louie Dog,
I thought you were done being sick. You are really starting to worry me and I don't know what else to do. Please get better soon and stay better!

Dear Snow,
Where is my big storm? Everyone else gets one. Why don't I?

Dear Gilmore Girls,
You are and probably always will be my favorite TV show to watch. You never get old and you make me laugh all the time.

Dear Laundry,
I would really appreciate it if you would put your self in the washer and dryer and fold yourself afterwards. I don't really feel like hauling you up and down the stairs today.

Dear House,
Clean yourself please. I am tired of cleaning up after you all the time.

Dear Sheldon,
You are driving me up the freaking wall this morning. Why are you getting into everything humanly possible this morning? Ugh! Please just chill the eff out and be a good kitty.

That's all I've got for today. Have a great weekend everyone!

Clearance Shopping

Most of you know by now how much I love a good bargain. So when I went on Eddie Bauer's website today and found that they had some amazing clearance deals, I was stoked. And almost $70 later, I am a happy girl.

Now I originally went on there to see if these shirts that the Hubby loves were on sale. They are usually like $50 shirts and that is a little rich for my blood, but today they were on clearance for $14.99!!!! Say what??!!  And it just so happens that the Hubby's Birthday is on Friday. Call it fate or destiny or whatever you want, but it was mean to be. The Hubby will look so handsome in these shirts!

Via Eddiebauer.com

Via Eddiebauer.com

And of course I couldn't leave the site without looking at the women's clearance. What kind of person would I be? I seriously found so many things that I wanted, but as most of you probably have dealt with, when stuff is on clearance, they don't always have the size or color that you would like. But of course I did manage to find myself a few things.

Like this adorable henley...

And this Motion Hoodie for going to the gym and for when I go walking or any other type of activity!

Via Eddiebauer.com

I am pretty excited about all of my purchases. Especially since I didn't pay over $18 for anything that I bought. Like I said, I love a great deal.

Good Riddance

This post is to celebrate me being done with preparing our companies 1099's. That's right! I am finally freaking done with those bastards.

I swear they were trying to kill me last week. Everything that could go wrong with them absolutely went wrong. They tried my patience and were making me question my sanity. But finally, I can say that I have finally stuck it to them. Take that 1099's! You are out of my life for at least the next year now! Haha suckers!

Oh the life of being an accountant.

A Few Randoms for Today

Well, Monday is here. And this one is not particularly my friend today. First, I forgot that I had to do payroll when I got to work this morning, so I have been kind of running around with my head cut off. And that is why I am not doing a weekend recap. Sorry about that. So I figured I would just give you guys a few random things that are on my mind today.

First off, I am seriously PISSED at Country Jam right now! I have been waiting for weeks for them to announce who was taking the lineup spot that Lady Antebellum left open after having to cancel due to Hilary Scott being preggers. Seriously, weeks!! So they finally announced it yesterday and who did they get might you ask? Kid Rock. What? I am a pretty die hard country music fan and I would never ever ever put him in that category. Or Uncle Kracker. Now yes, I know they have each had one or two songs that were on the country charts, but to me that does not make you a headliner. They could have gotten so many other great people and yet, they didn't. I am so disappointed and just mad. Ugh!!!

I got a Fit Bit this weekend and I am absolutely in love with it. The best part about it, they don't charge you for the subscription to use it!!! Thank the freaking lord! I hate paying for that crap!

We got a new grill this weekend too. Well it's used, but new to us. This thing is huge. I have a feeling that I may not see my Husband very much this week because he is going to be obsessed with using that thing.

I am now down 5 lbs. Whoop whoop!!! I am excited about that. I can't wait to see more weight come off. And I am not going to lie, I love switching the little glass rocks from the "Lbs. to Lose" jar to the "Lbs. Lost" jar. It's just fun and rewarding at the same time.

I thought the Super Bowl was pretty uneventful until the lights went out! That made it a tad more interesting. I felt like the commercials just weren't that great this year either. I was really looking forward to the ETrade one because those usually don't disappoint, but it wasn't as good as some of their past ones. I did like the Budweiser commercial with the Clydesdale though. And a few of the Doritos commercials were pretty funny. But I have to say my favorite was the Taco Bell one with the Senior Citizens busting out of their home, haha!

And Beyonce actually wasn't too bad either. I loved that there was a somewhat Destiny's Child reunion that went on. I am just glad that it was a current artist.

Congrats to Breanna for winning K's giveaway!! I will be making your pink sparkly Starbucks cup tonight! I can't wait to send it to you!

And last but not least, I have one person who is going to pitch in on my 100 follower giveaway so far. Let me know if you are at all interested in helping host my giveaway!

Like I said, pretty random stuff. You can't say that I didn't warn you!

Friday's Letters

It's that time again!!! I am linking up with Ashley from The Sweet Season for Friday's Letters.

Photobucket

Dear Week From  Hell,
I would appreciate it if you wouldn't come around again for a while. Or ever! Thanks!

Dear Hunter Hayes,
I really didn't want to like you because I love me some Scotty McCreery, and I felt like I was cheating on him by listening to your CD. But, I have decided that there is enough of me for both of you. Your CD is amazing and I can't quit listening to it!

Dear Self,
You have done so much better this week with your lifestyle change. And last nights dinner was probably the healthiest thing you have ever eaten in your life. Keep up the good work!

Dear January,
Where did you go?

Dear February,
Holy crap! How did you get here so fast? Thanks for getting here though so that I can spoil my Husband for his Birthday!

Dear Bills,
Go away!!!! I am tired of giving you all my money.

Dear lbs,
You can start falling off of me at any point now. Thanks!

Dear 1099's,
I am so glad that we only have to see each other once a year. I would seriously rip my hair out if you came around more than that. I can't wait to be done with you.

Dear Followers,
You guys are seriously awesome. You rock my socks off! I can't believe that I have over 100 of you now! I am so excited and currently working on a giveaway for you.

Dear Louie Dog,
I am so glad that you are FINALLY feeling better. So don't go getting sick again. Got it? Thanks!

Happy Friday Everyone!!
