Trial Run

This past Saturday I had my trial run for my hair. Aran's mom and I went to the appointment together, but the drive over there was not that great considering that there was about 4 inches of snow on the ground and people were driving like crazy people. You would think living in Colorado that you would know how to drive in the snow safely, but nope! Apparently that is a little too much to ask for, haha!

Once we finally arrived safely, we went on in and met with Emily, the lady that cuts my hair and now styles it. Emily just recently got married herself so she knows a lot of the stuff that I am going through right now so it is super nice to talk to someone else that has already gone through all of the planning and everything. Once we talked for a few, I showed her the pictures of the hair style that I liked and she got to work.

It actually took longer than I thought it would, and she just did a rough mock up off the style that I was wanting. I couldn't believe how well my curls held too. She used this awesome Redken stuff that held my curls in all day, even with it snowing. It is called Redken Hot Sets 22 Thermal Setting Mist. This stuff worked so well that I am going to go out and buy some for myself and for the day of the wedding, because almost all of my girls are doing their own hair, so this would really come in handy.

Overall the trial went really well and it looked great. I can't wait to actually see it the day of because she told me that she would be doing a lot more work on it to make it look the best that it could. We were also supposed to do my make up trial, but that ended up working out, which is fine because I have no idea what I want to do. I need to start looking for that. Well, I hope that everyone has a great day and hopefully you are not experiencing the cold temps that we are here in Colorado.

Do you guys have any suggestions for where I should look for simple make up styles? Did you have someone do your make up? Or did you do your own?

  1. Redken products are my favorite! I normally look up wedding make-up styles on google images or on pinterest - there is almost too many good ideas that you can find!

  3. Glad it went well..I can't wait to seeeeeee it!! I had someone do my makeup and I had a trial with her beforehand....I don't know enough about makeup myself to really help and that's why I wanted someone to do it for me. Took the pressure off.

  4. I always look for colors before styles. I would think some nice brown tones would look great and natural. Some peachy blush. Then I would decide if I want my lips or eyes to be the focal point. After that, I would choose a lip color that complemented my eye color. I usually go for a stain with a gloss over it...but test some colors first...because it's a stain...haha. Love you!
