Rylei Is Here!

In yesterday's post I talked about something super exciting that happened on Friday. Well, most of  you probably figured it out, but drum roll please...

MY NIECE, RYLEI WAS BORN!!!!!!!

Originally my SIL was set to be induced on Sunday, September 2nd, but apparently Miss Rylei listened to her favorite Aunt Megan and decided to make her entrance into the world a few days sooner than planned. We were all very okay with this.

We originally had planned for me to come down to their place on Friday (I took the day off) to help get things kind of squared away. We were going to clean the house and just get things in order. Well that morning, my SIL text me and told me not to bother coming over because they were headed to the hospital. She told me to come whenever I could. So I got ready and I headed to the hospital. Luckily the hospital is only five minutes from our house, so it didn't take me long to get there.

When I arrived they had her in pre-admit, and were monitoring her contractions and all that jazz. They decided she wasn't far enough along to admit her so they told her to start walking around. The hospital was almost to full capacity. This is why they gave her so much grief about admitting her in the first place. Apparently everyone decided to have their babies that day.  I think it was the full moon, not to mention a blue moon that was causing this. Any who, we walked around that wing of the hospital for hours. Finally, around 1:00 pm they decided she was far enough along to admit her.

Once they admitted her and broke her water, things still weren't moving along very much. Her contractions were getting super intense but she still wasn't getting far enough along on her own. So they gave her some Pitocin(I may be spelling this way wrong) to push the labor along and after an hour or so it was go time.

At 7:03 pm on August 31st, Rylei Summer was born. She was 6 lbs and 14 oz and 20 inches long and absolutely perfect and beautiful in every way.

This is one of my faves because she is holding my finger

Look at that lip! She has got that down pat already!

We are one ecstatic family right now! We are all so obsessed with this tiny little girl. I think I have it the worst. Everyday I say to the Hubby, "I just want to go see Rylei!" She is so freaking cute and I pretty much spent every minute I could with her this past weekend. And she loves me already(or so I like to think) because anytime I hold her, she immediately calms down. I will take that as a victory!

We are so blessed to have this little girl in our life! And I can't wait to see how her personality develops as she grows up. And I can't wait to see what she looks like as she grows up too. There are so many fun and exciting things to watch as she grows up, and I am excited to know that I will be there for all of it. We love you so much already Rylei, and we all look forward to seeing you grow!
